Julia Morris' cancer message to fans.

Whether she’s delivering killer stand-up or tickling our TV funny bones, Julia Morris is accustomed to making people laugh. But the 47-year-old comedian slash actress had something pretty serious to say last night.

And it was this: “Gang, seriously… Can you please look after your skin in the sun with proper sunscreen. You are too awesome not to. jx”

Fresh from having a skin cancer removed from her shoulder, Julia took to social media to share a few post-op pictures direct from the doctor’s surgery, in the hope of warning her hundreds of thousands of followers about the consequences of long-term sun exposure.

Despite the apparent seriousness of the situation, the I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here host couldn’t resist the chance for a few LOLs. Or at least her doctor couldn’t.

It’s not the first time that JMo has gone under the knife to have dangerous moles removed. She’s previously had at leas two malignant melanomas removed along with multiple benign skin cancers.

Just last year she was forced to explain the presence of the resulting scars on her body, after social media users decided that the comedian had definitely, certainly, without a doubt undergone lap-band surgery.

In the style of Ariana Grande, please let it be known that henceforth I will only be photographed on this angle Jx

She definitely, certainly, without a doubt hadn’t.

Morris responded, “For the benefit of all who are concerned… the scarring on my tum is from all the skin cancer moles & compound nevii I have been having removed since I was 9yrs old. While 2 are clear in this shot, there are another 7 there too. A massive one on my upper arm & 6 on my back. I have 50+ on in this shot & since both of my malignant melanomas, I am fully checked by a cancer specialist every 12 months jx”.

So remember to slip, slop, slap, boys and girls. If Morris does it, it must be cool.
