It’s hard to believe, but Drew Barrymore is even more awesome these days than she was back in the nineties, when she inspired you to wear daisies in your hair and pluck your eyebrows to scarily thin proportions.
More than three decades after we fell in love with her as Gertie in ET: The Extra-Terrestrial, Barrymore remains a woman after our own heart. The 40-year-old regularly does her makeup on public transport, has a line of wines to her name, and is charmingly candid about her life as a mum.

Case in point: this week, she told Glamour her body post-birth makes her feel like a kangaroo. Yes. A kangaroo.
“After making two babies, holy cow, does your body do some crazy stuff!” the actress, who most recently appeared in the movie Blended, told the magazine. “It’s hard to stay positive and love yourself … You feel like a kangaroo with a giant pouch; everything’s saggy and weird.”
Drew also wins at Instagram – check out our favourite snaps (post continues after gallery).

Barrymore and her art consultant husband Will Kopelman have two daughters together: Olive, two, and Frankie, whose first birthday is next month. Any time she starts feeling insecure about the way her body looks, she looks to the wisdom and wit of Dr Seuss.
“You think about how beautiful it is that you’re able to make children. When I lose sight of that, I exercise, read Dr. Seuss’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, and spend time with my kids. Then I start to see things that are bigger than myself,” Barrymore, who also has a makeup line called Flower Beauty, says.
