Married At First Sight's Zoe and Alex share their first delivery room photo.

“SURRENDER,” Zoe Hendrix’s latest Instagram caption, underneath a photo of the Married At First Sight contestant with her partner Alex Garner, begins.

“My labour consisted of 12 hours, six midwives and one amazing birth partner who supported me and carried me through my pain with love, light, and laughter so that I could bring our child into the world.”

It’s the first glimpse of what happened in the delivery room on November 14, when the couple’s first child Harper-Rose was born.

In the photo, an exhausted Zoe cradles her tiny girl on her chest, while Alex, 31, beams to the camera. It’s a touching snapshot of hopelessly relieved new parents.

“The delivery was not easy, I was not prepared,” the 27-year-old writes about her birthing experience, which involved both pelvic problems and Harper-Rose being born with the umbilical cord around her neck.

“But I chose to surrender my fears and let my body do what it needed to do,” she continued.

In previous posts, the pair described the labour as “terrifying”.

“I am in awe at what pain I was able to withstand, what our bodies can do, and even prouder that I knew my limits and was supported in my choices. After nine hours I had the epidural and not long after our gorgeous girl was born,” Zoe wrote.

The complications were undeniably more difficult for Zoe and Alex, who also suffered the heartbreak of a miscarriage last year.

Thankfully, now at three weeks old, Harper Rose is a happy and healthy baby.

Of her beautiful little girl, Zoe says: “I could sit and stare at [her] for hours. [She was] well worth the wait.”
