A dad went to pick up his dog from the groomers. Except he came home with the wrong dog.

Welcome to the latest edition of dads doin’ silly things.

Alex, a 22-year-old university student from Miami, shared a funny lil’ story online about his dad.

You see, Alex’s family have a 10-year-old toy Maltese named Nieves.

Nieves regularly goes to the groomer and Alex’s dad usually picks her up.

Except… except this time he picked up the wrong dog.

Yep, Alex’s dad came home with another toy Maltese who was definitely not little Nieves.

“My dad took my dog to Petsmart to get groomed and he came back with a different dog and didn’t notice until my brother and I told him something,” Alex wrote on Twitter.

“According to him it was because the dog acted normal and followed him to the car and even jumped in as soon as he opened the door,” Alex told Buzzfeed.

Alex said his dad thought “something was off” but he put it down to his ageing eyesight.

“My brother and I died of laughter and asked why he would take the dog home if he thought something was off. He said, ‘I thought I was getting old and my eyes were betraying me’,” Alex told the publication.

Alex’s dad then returned, erm, not Nieves to the groomers and picked up the real Nieves after double-checking with his sons that he had the right doggo.

The internet, of course, is loving the little Maltese mix up.

This other little dog looks like he enjoyed his adventure, he seemed to enjoy visiting his new friends, seemed to have fun????????????????Hope he doesn’t expect this every time he goes to the groomers????????????????
