Media company Global Language Monitor has unveiled the most commonly used words, phrases and names of the year, and it seems our fave little coloured heart appeared billions of times a day around the world, across languages and cultures.
Yup, 2014’s most-popular.
It’s the 15th year of the award, and the first time ever that an emoji has won, just beating out ‘#’ for the title.
