A woman has been charged with second-degree arson after she allegedly attempted to get revenge on her former partner by setting fire to his car.
There was just one problem (aside from the whole arson thing, that is): the torched car wasn’t his.
Police will allege Carmen Chamblee of Florida stuffed a rag into the petrol tank of a Honda Civic on August 31 before setting it on fire and cycling away from the scene.
The 19-year-old was arrested over the weekend after local police posted CCTV footage of the incident to their Facebook page calling for help in identifying the arsonist.
After being taken into custody, Chamblee reportedly admitted to detectives that she thought the car belonged to her ex-boyfriend, reports ABC Action News.
The vehicle’s true owner, however, is a man named Thomas Jennings.
