A woman who was killed in a domestic dispute earlier this month managed to record the entire ordeal on her phone, authorities claim.
Wesley Webb was allegedly shot dead by her boyfriend Keith Smith in the home they shared in Pennsylvania on May 2. Three children under the age of 14 were also inside the house at the time.
Authorities believe that Ms. Webb turned on audio recording on her phone just before she was killed, recording the gunshot that killed her and events following until the arrival of emergency services.
Smith is heard acknowledging the recording and shouting obscenities at the woman before killing her, with the audio hearing him yelling, “You want to record it now, b****?” After the sound of gunshot, he is heard telling her lifeless body: “F*** you! How’s that. That’s where we just went.”
It also alleged that Smith tried to turn the weapon on himself following the murder before emergency services arrived, shooting himself in the face but failing to kill himself.
Prosecutors announced murder charges on Wednesday against Smith, with the District Attorney’s office saying they believe the row started over Webb declaring she was leaving and taking her children with her.
