This woman asked each of her 20 boyfriends for an iPhone. Then she bought a house.

A woman in China has put down a deposit on a house with the money she gained selling gifts she received from her boyfriends — all 20 of them.

We’re not sure whether to high-five her financial strategies or call this out for the coldblooded scam it is.

The BBC reported the woman, known only as Xiaoli, asked each of her boyfriends for an iPhone 7 and then sold them all for around $23,000.

The money was then put towards a deposit on a house in the countryside.

The BBC verified the seems-too-weird-to-be-true story after it went viral on Chinese blogging platform the Tian Ya Yi Du forum.

The author of the story, a person known as Proud Qiaoba, said the woman revealed how she obtained the house while touring her friends through her new home.

“Everyone in the office is talking about this now,” Proud Qiaoba wrote.

“Who knows what her boyfriends think now this news has become public?”

We have a sneaking suspicion they're thinking they got scammed big time.

Considering the avocado crisis and the housing crisis, Mamamia has formed a handy guide for Australian men and women who would like to rip off their romantic partners.

The current average price for a house in Sydney sits at around $990,000.

We're going to assume you're laying out around 10 per cent of that because who has a casual $180,000 kicking about.

We're also going to assume you're going to buy an iPhone 7 from the Apple store at the price of $1079.

Listen: Mamamia Out Loud discusses the smashed avo-house deposit controversy. (Post continues after audio.)

In order for you to get your 10 per cent deposit of $99,000, you will need 91.7 boyfriends.

Alternatively, you could get 6,600 boyfriends to buy you a plate of avocado smash at $15 that you will then immediately sell for $15.

Maths!
