For sale.
Average pressies. Hubby forgot to say Happy Mother’s Day?
Were you frustrated by your Mother’s Day?
This mum was and so she decided to seek revenge and put her husband up for sale on Facebook.
Katie Bouye from the US town of Jupiter, near Florida posted the cheeky ad on Mother’s Day.
The post read “Husband for sale, best offer. Hubby who couldn’t be bothered to wish me happy Mother’s Day or do anything special for me yesterday. One (wo)man’s trash is another (wo)man’s treasure — has eight years of marriage mileage so somewhat broken in. Pick up in Jupiter.”
Her post – as you would expect – went viral.
“He didn't say happy Mother's Day," Katie told WPTV. “He didn't say thank you, or even have the kids make me a homemade card like he might normally do, so I was a little frustrated.”
So online he went.
(We get where you are coming from Katie)
The quirky ad quickly attracted hundreds of comments.... but not so many bids, with the highest offer she received for Chris just $20.
The item on offer, hubbie Chris said it was far too low for his skill set.
“I cook, I clean, I mop floors, I do dishes, I paint,” he said.
While many of us might be secretly thinking what a great idea I wish I had thought of that there was actually an ulterior motive for the sale and it was all in the name of a good cause.
Katie was supporting one of her friends whose son has childhood ALS - Katie Myer's son Kayden was only a baby when he was diagnosed with with the disease.
ALS - amyotrophic lateral sclerosis - or as we know it motor neurone disease - affects both upper and lower motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord causing them to shrink and disappear, over time the muscles become smaller and weaker and the body becomes paralyzed. In Kaydne's case it is spinal muscular atrophy.
