If you’re obsessed with Wicked, these are the 10 movies you need to watch next.

The movie adaption of the Broadway musical Wicked has proven to be quite pop-U-lar, with the film sweeping the globe.

Wicked follows the complex relationship between Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande) at Shiz University. The story explores Elphaba's journey from outcast to the infamous Wicked Witch of the West, culminating in her meeting the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum).

With stunning performances, dance numbers and cinematography, the film has garnered glowing reviews, smashed box office records and become a full-fledged phenomenon.

If you were one of the many who have seen the sensational film (maybe more than once, no judgement), then it's likely that you're in need of a similar hit of serotonin.

So we've collected a bunch of films that cover a similar subject or simply have the same vibes! You're welcome!

The Wizard of Oz.

Duh! If you want to stay in Oz, why not watch the movie that started it all: The Wizard of Oz.

The original follows Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland), a Kansas farm girl who is transported by a tornado to the magical Land of Oz. Along her journey to find her way home, she befriends a Scarecrow (Ray Bolger), Tin Man (Jack Haley), and Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr).

The film won two Academy Awards for Best Score and Best Song for 'Over the Rainbow' which (some trivia) was actually almost cut from the final film. It also revolutionised use of colour in film, with some of the best visuals the world had ever seen.

The Wiz.

If you want the same story, but with some funky flair, then look no further than 1978's The Wiz, a re-imagining of The Wizard of Oz with an African-American cast.

Like the OG, the story follows Dorothy, but this time she's a 24-year-old Harlem teacher played by Diana Ross, who is transported to a dystopian New York City-styled Oz. She's joined by Michael Jackson as the Scarecrow, Nipsey Russell as Tinman and Ted Ross as the Cowardly Lion.

Despite its star-studded cast and four Oscar nominations, the film initially failed commercially and critically, but it later became a beloved cult classic.

Oz the Great and Powerful.

Put your hands up if you forgot this movie ever existed? Big same.

It's a bit random, but if you're despo for more Oz content, this might scratch that itch.

Released in 2013, Oz the Great and Powerful follows Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a circus magician who is transported to the magical Land of Oz via (you guessed it) a tornado. He meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz), and Glinda (Michelle Williams), and he is mistaken for a prophesied wizard. Obviously, he just rolls with it.

Practical Magic.

Okay okay, hear me out. Two witches with a sisterly friendship (or, in this case are sisters) who get up to mischief when they find themselves in trouble with some trash man? Sounds familiar!

Practical Magic follows witch sisters Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Gillian Owens (Nicole Kidman) who struggle with a family curse that kills any man they fall in love with. When Gillian's abusive boyfriend Jimmy becomes a threat, the sisters must embrace their magical heritage and seek help from their magical aunts, played by Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest.

Wicked might have 'Defying Gravity' but Practical Magic has '(Put the Lime in the) Coconut' and that's on feminism!

The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.

Friendship! Girlhood! Magic jeans!

Released in 2005, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants stars America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, Blake Lively, and Alexis Bledel as four best friends who discover a mysterious pair of jeans that fits them all perfectly.

The film follows their separate summer adventures, spanning Greece to South Carolina, as they stay connected by their shared pants. Directed by Ken Kwapis, the film quickly became a beloved coming-of-age movie about friendship.

Mamma Mia!

If you're desperate for a feel-good musical like Wicked, you can't go past Mamma Mia!

This jukebox musical, starring Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried as mother and daughter, follows Sophie, a bride-to-be on a Greek island who invites three men from her mother Donna's past, hoping to discover her real father.

The star-studded cast includes Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, and Stellan Skarsgård. Like Wicked, it's impossible to watch this movie without singing along, and its emotional scenes (aka 'Slipping Through My Fingers' and 'The Winner Takes It All') will hit you straight in the feels.

You can stream Mamma Mia! on Binge, Netflix, Stan and Prime Video.

Chicago.

When it comes to Broadway adaptions, you don't get better than Chicago.

It might not be set in the colourful world of Oz, but there's something equally mesmerising about the dark underbelly of Chicago's jazz scene.

Released in 2002, Chicago follows Roxie Hart (Renée Zellweger) and Velma Kelly (Catherine Zeta-Jones), two murderesses in 1920s Chicago who compete for fame to escape the gallows.

The film features Richard Gere as manipulative lawyer Billy Flynn, who orchestrates media spectacles to win their cases. Directed by Rob Marshall, this adaptation of Bob Fosse's 1975 Broadway musical was both a critical and commercial triumph, winning six Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

Trust me, it's just as good as you remember.

Beauty and the Beast.

If you like your musicals a bit lighter and fluffier than Chicago, the live-action adaption of Beauty and the Beast could be the ticket.

The 2017 Disney flick directed by Bill Condon, stars Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast. This musical romantic fantasy follows Belle, a bookworm who becomes imprisoned in an enchanted castle by a cursed prince-turned-beast. The stellar supporting cast includes Ewan McGregor, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad and Emma Thompson.

Into The Woods.

This ticks a lot of Wicked boxes: it's magical, there are witches and plenty of catchy tunes.

Into the Woods interweaves multiple fairytales through the story of a childless Baker and his Wife seeking to break a witch's curse. The star-studded cast features Meryl Streep as the Witch, Emily Blunt as the Baker's Wife, James Corden as the Baker, and Johnny Depp as the Wolf.

Frozen.

And finally, you can't go past Frozen.

The iconic Disney film follows Princess Anna's quest to find her sister Elsa, who has inadvertently trapped their kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter with her icy powers. The film features Kristen Bell as Anna, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, and Josh Gad as Olaf the snowman.

But Wicked fans will most recognise the voice of Elsa, portrayed by Idina Menzel, who played the original Elphaba on Broadway, who gives 'Defying Gravity' a run for its money with her rendition of 'Let It Go'.
