Who is Katie Hopkins? The 5 most ridiculous things she's ever said.

Katie Hopkins somehow made her way onto 60 Minutes Australia and precisely no one understands why.

You see, the self-confessed “biggest b*tch in Britain” has feelings about Meghan Markle and yes they must be aired on the television. She believes the Duchess of Sussex is a “no one,” “wears bad clothes,” and is “the biggest hypocrite there is”.

She’s also annoyed that Meghan is always described as “glowing,” which seems petty even for Katie Hopkins.

But while the 60 Minutes trailer has Katie Hopkins trending globally, it's important to remember that her comments about Meghan Markle are by no means out of the ordinary.

Back in 2015, the UK media personality was labelled a "professional troll" for her comments about obesity that were so cruel, most sane people would choose to believe they couldn't possibly be authentic.

In fact, I choose generally to believe that the things Katie Hopkins says aren't authentic, because they're actually... ridiculous.

Like batsh*t insane.

So to put her 60 Minutes interview in context, here are the 5 most ridiculous things Katie Hopkins has ever said:

1. That time she said new mums just pretty much drink coffee all day

In an actual article, featuring her own byline, Katie Hopkins argued that being a full time mum a) isn't a job, b) doesn't make you interesting, and c) is just a 'biological status update'.

"Nothing makes my buttocks clench tighter and my teeth itch more than 'Full Time Mummy'. Full time mummy is not a job title. It is a biological status," she wrote.

"The difference between most mothers and me is that I didn't sit around drinking coffee at baby group for 12 months after the birth of my baby. No, in three weeks I was back in my suit, back at my desk earning profit for my business and I don’t see why other women shouldn't do the same."

Cool.

2. That time she judged most people whose name isn't 'Katie'.

Katie Hopkins thinks your name says most things people need to know about you.

Appearing on This Morning in 2013, she said, "A name, for me, is a short way of working out what class that child comes from. Do I want my child to play with them?"

She went on to say that when she hears, "Hi, this is my daughter Charmaine," she actually hears, "Hi, I am thick and ignorant".

Lovely.

She then expressed her dislike of 'geographical names' like Brooklyn and London, before one of the hosts pointed out that Hopkins herself has a daughter named India.

“That’s not related to a place,” she said.

3. That time she said she'd never hire an obese person.

You might recall the time Katie Hopkins intentionally gained and lost 50 pounds, for the pure purpose of "[showing] how simple it is". Her 'experiment' was filmed for the two-part special Fat and Back, which aired on TLC in 2015.

During the show, she looked at an obese woman and said, "I look at you and I think, ‘You are a wreck of a human being.'"

In other contexts, she's been similarly fatphobic.

On This Morning, she once said, "Would I employ you if you were obese? No I would not. You would give the wrong impression to the clients of my business. I need people to look energetic, professional and efficient. If you are obese you look lazy.

"To call yourself ‘plus size’ is just a euphemism for being fat. Life is much easier when you’re thinner. Big is not beautiful, of course a job comes down to how you look."

4. That time she referred to the need for a 'final solution' after the Manchester bombing.

In May 2016, after the Manchester terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert that killed 23 people, Katie Hopkins wrote a tweet directed at the This Morning host Phillip Schofield.

"22 dead - number rising. Schofield. Don't you even dare," she wrote. "Do not be part of the problem. We need a final solution".

She was reported to police for inciting racial or religious hatred, given her noted history of Islamaphobia.

5. That time she said people with red hair are 'hard to love'.

In a tweet that still exists on the internet, Katie Hopkins shared her bizarre commentary on babies who happen to have red hair.
