Last year, Dave Grohl announced he had a lovechild. This week, he made a very pointed move.

In September 2024, the news hit like shockwaves that Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl had fathered a child outside his 21-year marriage to wife Jordyn Blum.

The child would become the muso's fourth daughter, who he welcomed alongside his daughters with Blum — Violet, 19, Harper, 16, and Ophelia, 11.

"I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage," he wrote on Instagram at the time.

"I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness."

It was a bombshell announcement that many thought would end the marriage, but come February 2026, Grohl and Blum appear very much still together.

Grohl, 57, and Blum, 49, walked the carpet together at the Pre-Grammy Gala, with Grohl's arm around her waist and smiles all around.

The couple even brought their daughter, Violet, to the event. It was the picture of a 'happy family', and a suggestion that the family has moved on — and so should everyone else.

While there were early reports that Blum was keen to split following the news, a People source later contradicted that idea.

"She's forgiven him. They never wanted a divorce – the idea of splitting up their family was too sad for both of them," the source told the outlet.

"They love their girls, and they're both great parents."

Prior to the scandal, Grohl and Blum appeared to be very much in love. They were spotted together in June 2024, dressed to the nines as they took in the scenes at Wimbledon in London.

Grohl has previously been open about his love for his wife, sharing the story of how they first met and nearly didn't move forward with the relationship in interviews.

"When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates and I decided that I wasn't ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling," he shared.

However, he soon realised his error.

"After three months, I had a revelation and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, 'Oh, I never thought I'd hear from you again,'" he recalled.

Blum is yet to make a statement of her own on the matter.

What do we know about Dave Grohl's affair?

Around a year before Grohl announced he'd welcomed a baby outside his marriage, gossip sites started posting 'blind items' about the musician's love life.

DeuxMoi wrote that they'd had multiple admissions, and in September 2023, per the Irish Star, the account shared the following post: "This frontman aka nice guy that was once in the most popular '90s band of all time isn't the perfect guy you think he is. I've known him to have a muse/lover for years."

Once the child was announced, speculation ran wild about the affair that led to the baby's conception.

Grohl has never confirmed the identity of the mother, but in February 2025, Jennifer Young, 38, told The New York Post that Grohl, 56, was the alleged father of her baby girl.

Records also reportedly show that the child, born on August 1, 2024, shares the musician's last name.

Young is a Florida-born music lover living in LA with her mother. She has previously been pictured with a baby while out on walks.

Speaking to The Post, Young asked to keep her baby's name private "because there are some really angry fans".

"Protecting her identity is really important," she said.

Before Young claimed to be the mother, the affair 'knowledge gap' spurred countless theories online, with Australian radio icon Jackie O weighing in with her own thoughts: that Grohl's baby's mother may be Australian.

"Everyone was shocked when he released a statement. Obviously, he had sex with a fan, and maybe he didn't know until now. But he was on tour in Australia nine months ago," she said at the time.

Grohl was touring with the Foo Fighters in Australia in late November 2023, playing shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

"It could be an Australian girl, because he said he recently became a father. It could be Australian if [the baby was born] just now," Jackie O said.

However, Kyle Sandilands, her co-host, didn't buy into the theory. He said that Grohl also visited Abu Dhabi, the US and New Zealand after that. "It could be any number of countries," he said.
