Whitney Port had a 'healthy pregnancy' with her son. Then she experienced five miscarriages.

This post deals with miscarriage and may be triggering for some readers.

Whitney Port Rosenman was 32-years-old when she welcomed her son. While she claims she "didn't feel great" throughout, it was thankfully a completely healthy pregnancy.

However, in the years that followed, as Port Rosenman and her husband, Tim Rosenman, attempted to expand their family, they experienced a series of heartbreaking losses.

In a candid new interview, the television personality and fashion designer opened up about experiencing multiple pregnancy losses, sharing that she suffered five miscarriages after welcoming her son, Sonny.

The former star of The Hills recently shared details of her difficult journey in an episode of the SHE MD podcast, where she discussed the emotional impact of repeated pregnancy losses and her ongoing fertility treatments.

"About a year after I had Sonny, I got pregnant again and then miscarried at around eight weeks, and I had another miscarriage after that," she said.

"At this point, I was 34 or 35. I've had a total of five miscarriages. One at eight weeks, a few at nine weeks, and one ended up at 11 weeks. All with heartbeats."

Despite these heartbreaking setbacks, Port continued exploring options to have another child. She and Rosenman underwent IVF treatments, with Port Rosenman documenting her egg retrieval process. The couple also considered surrogacy, though that path presented its own challenges, as Port revealed her surrogate also experienced two miscarriages.

"We had talked to a lot of people and we thought that maybe doing a fresh round of embryos and a new surrogate was the best option," she said. "I had decided I really felt like carrying was off the table for me."

"We tried again with her, and the same thing happened, and heartbeat and everything. And then she miscarried. We obviously decided at that point we needed to take a little bit of a breather from everything."

Port has always been very open about her pregnancy struggles in the past, including sharing her very-personal miscarriage in 2021.

In November 2021, Port shared the bittersweet news of her pregnancy. In a YouTube video, she announced that she was pregnant, expecting her second child with Rosenman. However, during the clip, Port explained that it was "likely another unhealthy pregnancy".

"I'm currently seven weeks pregnant, which is supposed to be obviously really exciting, and it has been up until yesterday," she said.

"I have been going to the doctor and monitoring it, because of my history with miscarriages. I've had two miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy. And everything was looking good up until yesterday."

The reality star explained that during an ultrasound, her doctor found that "whatever was happening in there was not where it was supposed to be, given the week that I'm at."

"He said that he was pessimistic about this pregnancy, and he told me to get blood drawn. So, I will get blood results back today and see if numbers are going up or going down," she said.

"But this is likely another unhealthy pregnancy."

Later that same month, Port and her husband confirmed their worst fears: they had lost the baby.

"It's not good news. The doctor didn't hear a heartbeat," Rosenman said in their YouTube video at the time.

"Last week the baby had doubled, and he heard a heartbeat, and this week, there was no heartbeat," Port Rosenman said.

The reality TV star explained that when she previously had an ultrasound, and it looked like there was "no embryo inside and the yolk sac was thin", that was maybe a sign. However, the couple stayed hopeful.

"But maybe that was naïve," she said.

Port also shared how much of a toll her pregnancy loss had on her mental health.

"At this point, I want to get the procedure so I can stop feeling the way that I'm feeling. Because I've been feeling so physically ill that it's been making me depressed," she said.

"I want to just feel physically better first and get my head straight."

Now, Port is looking towards exploring surrogacy again with her husband in the coming year.
