Look, at the risk of putting the American people offside… we’ve got beef.
Apparently, a surprising number of them simply don’t know where chocolate milk comes from.
And, worse than that, the place they think it comes from is udder-ly ridiculous.
A new survey, commissioned by the Innovation Center of U.S. Dairy, found a whopping 7 per cent of American adults think the sugar-y brown liquid comes straight out of the cow like that.
Out of brown cows, like that.
In simple terms that means 16.4 million grown-ups don't realise chocolate milk is just regular, white milk, plus a little cocoa and sugar.
Now, we may laugh BUT, according to The Washington Post, that's actually not so surprising given that many Americans are basically "agriculturally illiterate".
Journalist Caitlin Dewey cited one study from the early 90s that found one in five didn't know hamburgers were made of beef.
“Right now, we’re conditioned to think that if you need food, you go to the store," Cecily Upton, co-founder FoodCorps told TWP.

"Nothing in our educational framework teaches kids where food comes from before that point.”
Hopefully this new research is a moo-ve in the right direction.
