The only 6 things to watch this weekend.

New year, new me, right? Wrong. Much more importantly, there are new TV and movies to obsess over. 

Now is the perfect time to take stock of 2023 by staying inside for a weekend (if you're still recovering for NYE, no judgment here!) and watch some truly incredible shows and films. 

This is us giving you permission to finish all the chocolates gifted to you for Christmas and barricade yourself inside the comfort of your home while blasting the fan, or even the (must be nice!) air conditioner. 

From addictive thrillers to unbelievable real-life stories, we've rounded up the must-watch TV and movies to catch this weekend.

Fool Me Once — Netflix.

The 'master of twists', crime author Harlan Coben, returns with Fool Me Once, another gripping thriller to sink your teeth into, based on the novel of the same name.

The eight-part series follows on from Coben's other Netflix adaptions, Safe, The Stranger and Stay Close.

The new series stars Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage and Joanna Lumley, and follows Maya (Keegan) in the aftermath of the brutal murder of her husband, Joe (Armitage). 

But like all of Coben's mysteries, all is not what it seems after Maya spots a very much alive Joe on her nanny-cam. Oop!

Fool Me Once is now streaming on Netflix.

The Tourist — Stan.

Upon its 2021 debut, The Tourist found a cult following for its quirky story about a man waking in the Australian outback with no memory, who must follow clues to discover his identity.

Jamie Dornan is back as our mysterious man, Elliot, and season two shifts to the opposite side of the earth, finding our curious hero in Ireland. And of course, he quickly finds himself in trouble (again!) as he discovers the more he finds out about himself, the more he hopes to escape his past. 

The brand new season of The Tourist is now streaming on Stan.

Society of the Snow — Netflix.

Already tipped to sweep the Oscars, Spanish-language movie Society of the Snow relays the brutal true story of the 1972 plane crash in the Andes where 16 men spent 72 days trying to survive, which meant they had to resort to eating the bodies of the victims of the crash. Yep, brutal right.

Thankfully, the movie version shows minimal cannibal scenes, instead focusing on the young men's bravery and enduring friendship. 

Society of the Snow is now streaming on Netflix. 

FOE — Prime Video.

If you like sci-fi and anything starring Paul Mescal and Saoirse Ronan, then FOE is for you. The Amazon film is based on the Ian Reid novel of the same name, with the screenplay adapted by Australian director Garth Davis.

The film promises to be an unflinching exploration of marriage and identity set in an uncertain world, picking up as married pair Hen (Ronan) and Junior (Mescal) live on a farm in a secluded town. An uninvited stranger (Aaron Pierre) shows up at their door with a bizarre proposal that will turn their quiet rural lives upside down. 

FOE is now streaming on Prime Video. 

Good Grief — Netflix.

File this under movies to watch when you're dealing with loss. The comedy-drama is written and directed by Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy, who also stars as child’s book illustrator Marc, a man processing the grief of losing his husband. 

Marc finds solace in his besties Sophie (Ruth Negga) and Thomas (Himesh Patel), and the trio decide to go to Paris to forget their troubles. It basically sounds like Emily In Paris but it's... Grieving In Paris. Tres keen.

Good Grief is now streaming on Netflix.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City — Hayu.

Okay, this show has technically been running for weeks, but if there was any time to watch it, now is the time. If you're a Housewives fans and you're not watching SLC this week... then you can leave (if you know, you know).

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has come into its own, proving to be the most dramatic series out of all the various franchises, with each episode becoming event TV. And it's all been leading up to the penultimate finale, as friction spills over between Lisa, Whitney, Heather, Angie, and Meredith, along with chaotic newcomer Monica. 

The finale promises a big revelation about one of the women, so it's best to watch ASAP before social media spoils it. The three-part reunion kicks off next week — and it looks phenomenal.   

The brand new season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is now streaming on Hayu.
