Clutch your pearls: This is not a regular pillow.

TikTok can sometimes make you feel as though you're the only one not in on a secret.

As an ageing Millennial and late adopter of the platform, I find myself following the search prompts and condescending little explanation bot more often than I'd like to understand what the hell everyone in my FYP is talking about, but this week was one for the books.

Suddenly, everywhere I looked there was talk of the 'Infiniti Pillow'. Creators were filming shocked reaction videos, memes were springing up about it and cryptic captions about a pillow that was 'not at all what you'd expect' had my interest piqued.

A Manchester item interesting enough to get Gen Z whipped into a frenzy? Sign me up.

But when I tried to search for a straightforward explanation of what an Infiniti Pillow (see also: 'Infinity Pillow' and 'Infinite Pillow') actually was, I kept coming up short.

After a little bit of rabbit hole diving and searching for explanations in the comment section, I stumbled upon a video that provided a decent description of what, precisely, the pillow does - and let's just say that if you're looking for help with a bulged neck disc… this isn't the pillow for you. The original video appears to have been removed due to the platform's content censorship rules, but a number of creators have managed to get around the rules by cutting their clips just short of showing anything too extreme.

Because reader: the pillow is a sex toy

Disguised as an oversized character pillow (Hello Kitty and giant plush dogs are among the more popular versions) the body-length pillow features a detachable vibrator.

Now, feel however you may feel about these products (I'm not sure the idea of cartoon characters co-opted as sex dolls sit all too well with me), but the reactions online do not disappoint.

"We used to dance in this app," lamented one commenter in response to the video above.

"This is beastiality," commented another.

"I don't know who made this pillow, but y'all are so NASTY," agreed another creator stitching the original video with her own.

"Yeah but - where can I get one?" asked another.

A bit of further digging (because the work of an investigative journalist is never done - you're welcome) reveals that the concept of a pillow/sex toy hybrid is actually more common than you might think.

I'm not going to link anything here, but a quick search will yield some truly ghastly-looking couch cushions that would scare the hell out of you should you discover them sitting innocently on Nanna's chaise.

And whether this little crash course into TikTok's latest viral meme has shocked you or not, I think we can all agree on one thing: that's enough internet for today.
