We've just found out who'll be our new Bachelor for 2018.

Drum roll, please. It’s just been confirmed – the new Bachelor is officially Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins.

In the days leading up to the announcement, there had been rumours it could be the 30-year-old rugby player, but Channel 10 confirmed the news via their Facebook page on Wednesday night.

Nick has also issued a statement about his new role as Australia’s most eligible bachelor.

“I’m really looking forward to throwing everything at this opportunity to find the one,” he said in a press release.

“The past 10 or so years has been on the road playing rugby or working on my projects, so I’m very excited to be part of a show that is centred around love and good times.”

On the back of enlisting Sophie Monk, 38, to be last year’s Bachelorette, the people behind The Bachelor appear to be continuing the trend of putting famous faces in the role. Hey, Tinder’s not for everyone, right?

Not much more is known about the upcoming season yet, but the decision to cast the sportsman has already left fans of the show divided.

“What happened to just normal people being on this show?” wrote one commentator on Facebook.

“Is this for real? Surely he can find a girlfriend without being on The Bachelor!” commented another.

On the plus side, at least he’s got personality…?

Other fans were a little more, ahem, excited about Honey Badger’s casting.

“That’s more exciting than a swarm of bees in my pants!” wrote one.

Can’t argue with that.

Nick was winger for the Wallabies, but has been taking a break from his sporting career as he branches out into TV. He’s set to co-host season three of Netflix’s Ultimate Beastmaster and also co-developed and starred in National Geographic’s Meanwhile in Australia… Oh, yeah, he’s also written two books about his life, with a third in the works.

Honestly, we’re surprised he even has the time to appear on The Bachelor.
