It's been a big year for celebrity culture.

There have been breakups, a few new (and rogue) celebrity couples, some wild outfits and antics, oh… and Justin Timberlake got arrested.

Yep, that happened THIS year. What a time to be alive and chronically online!

As we edge ever closer to existential crisis the end of 2024, it's time to relive some of the weirder and wilder moments from celebrities this year.

Jennifer Lopez got cancelled for saying she was a 'crazy little girl.'

Jennifer Lopez has had a big year. Between the release of her movie, This Is Me… Now, her divorce from Ben Affleck, her aspirational single gal era, and then the critical praise for her role in Unstoppable, it's been a year of highs and lows.

But a few seconds of a scene from her documentary The Greatest Story Never Told almost derailed everything.

In the clip widely shared online, Lopez is veering into a mirror as she scruffs her hair. "It reminds me when I was 16 in the Bronx running up and down the block," she earnestly says.

"That crazy little girl be wild. No limits, all dreams."

The moment was heavily parodied on TikTok and in hindsight, it was one of the funnier memes of 2024.

The Kate Middleton conspiracies.

The year kicked off with a conspiracy theory around a family photo shared by Prince William and Princess Catherine for Mother's Day, which was later found to be digitally altered.

The scandal was paired with a video of Kate Middleton at a farmer's market in Windsor that led some to question whether she was an AI clone (you can't make this stuff up) which only fed the conspiracies more.

Eventually, Middleton had to come out and reveal she had been diagnosed with cancer which explained her absence from royal duties.

Justin Timberlake got arrested.

Can you believe this was 2024? Back in June, Justin Timberlake was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbour in New York.

Between the early reports and the mugshot doing the rounds, it's safe to say that this story exploded.

An anonymous source relayed to Page Six an alleged exchange between a police officer and Timberlake.

They claimed that the 'Sexy Back' singer said "This is going to ruin the tour", referencing his current The Forget Tomorrow World Tour.

To this, the officer asked, "What tour?"

Timberlake allegedly replied, "The world tour."

Perfect, no notes.

Andrew Garfield flirted up a storm with Amelia Dimoldenberg.

Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury broke up… and chaos ensued.

Love Island UK icons, Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, shocked fans by announcing their split in August after five years together. The beloved couple, who share one-year-old daughter Bambi, both emphasised their child remains their priority.

Within a day of their split being announced, cheating rumours overshadowed the breakup. The timing of the split came a day after Tommy was allegedly seen kissing a Danish woman at a nightclub in Macedonia.

In the following months, an OnlyFans creator claimed Tommy also cheated with her back in May.

Tommy has strongly denied all cheating allegations through his representatives, calling them "false". Molly-Mae will share her side of the story in an upcoming Prime Video documentary… so stay tuned!

In one moment in the set, Sabrina suddenly started making out with a dancer dressed as a sexy alien and we ate it right up.

Jojo Siwa invented gay pop.

JoJo Siwa's 2024 has been a wild ride. She ditched her signature bows and cutesy aesthetic for Gene Simmons-inspired goth makeup and edgy bodysuits.

But the biggest drama? She claimed to have invented "gay pop" in a Billboard interview, leading to swift backlash before she eventually backtracked and acknowledged the existence of queer icons and allies like Madonna and Lady Gaga. Big lol.

Drake and Kendrick Lamar's feud got super messy.

The Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud reached explosive levels in 2024, with both rappers releasing multiple diss tracks making serious allegations against each other.

The conflict began with Kendrick's appearance on 'Like That', where he rejected being part of rap's 'Big Three' with Drake and J. Cole.

The situation escalated dramatically with accusations flying from both sides, leading Drake to take legal action against Universal Music over Kendrick's track 'Not Like Us', claiming the label artificially boosted its streaming numbers.

Timothée Chalamet showed up to his own lookalike event (but didn't win).

The honour of winner was bestowed on Miles Mitchell, dressed as Willy Wonka, who snagged the $50 prize and massive trophy. The event was quite a chaotic moment, with police being called and multiple arrests made.

Oddly enough, this event had a huge impact with various lookalike competitions popping up around the world in the following weeks, including Jacob Elordi and Heath Ledger lookalike competitions held in Melbourne and Sydney.

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster dodged dating rumours.

Now this was drama with a capital 'D' as reports broke that Broadway co-stars Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster were 'in love' and happily dating.

The report came hot on the heels of Sutton filing for divorce from her husband, Ted Griffin, and a year after Hugh and his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, announced their split after 27 years of marriage.

This would be a good news story in itself if the waters weren't muddied by later reports that Hugh and Sutton's romantic spark began during their run of The Music Man together when, errr, they were both very much married to other people.

The photos of them together during this time certainly had a 'couple energy' to them.

The timeline of when they got together might never be public knowledge but what we can say, is that this pairing is every Broadway fan's fantasy.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Ervivo were 'holding space' for the lyrics of 'Defying Gravity.'

During a Wicked press junket interview, journalist Tracy E. Gilchrist told Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande that people were "holding space for the lyrics of 'Defying Gravity.'"

When pressed by Erivo, who said "I didn't know that was happening," Gilchrist meekly offered, "I've seen it," before curiously adding "I'm in queer media."

The confusion around what was happening combined with Erivo's emotional response and Grande tenderly holding her finger, created an unexpectedly viral moment that capped off a particularly meme-worthy press tour.

Social media users have since started using the phrase "holding space" in everyday conversations. Meanwhile, Grande has since confirmed in an interview with Variety that, like most of us, she had no clue what anyone was saying.

If that's not a 2024 mood, I don't know what is!
