Adelaide

Beautiful one day, perfect the next. Prepare yourselves for a sunny day with no rain, Adelaide. The temperatures will hit 29 degrees in parts, so we hope you’re ready for some serious sun.

Fail-safe outfit options:

• A pleated skirt so you can skip around in the sunshine during lunch
• Sunglasses. So you can, you know, see when you walk outside

Brisbane

If it’s going to be 23 degrees with a 70 per cent chance of rain, it might as well be on a Thursday, right?

Fail-safe outfit options:

• An umbrella, because with rain on the way, you never know when you might need it
• A jacket to help you get through a not-too-hot, not-too-cold day

Canberra

While the temperature is only heading for a top of 22 degrees, the skies will be mostly sunny and clear of rain.

There will be some areas of fog around town this morning, just to make things interesting, so make sure you stay safe out there on the roads.

Fail-safe outfit options:

• A pair of jeans is perfect for walking around outside when the temperature is not quite up to summer standards
• Pop on the coolest pair of sneakers you own to stand out in the fog

Darwin

Just like yesterday, Darwin, your top temperature will be 33 degrees.

Skies are partly cloudy, and there’s a slight chance of a shower-turned-thunderstorm later in the day.

And even though it’s cloudy, the UV scale will hit “extreme” levels so make sure you protect yourself with sunscreen.

• An umbrella for when the rain inevitably begins to fall
• A hat and sunglasses to protect yourself from those harmful UV rays

Hobart

Hobart friends, your city will be basked in (mostly) sunny skies with a top temperature of 23 degrees.

There’s only a five per cent chance of rain, but winds may pick up a little in the late afternoon.

Fail-safe outfit options:

• A  jacket for when the wind starts blowing on your way home from work
• Sparkly ballet flats just in case you need to run for shelter if the sky opens up

Melbourne

Melbourne, are you getting ready for work? Dress yourself with a smile because it will be a sunny 26 degrees for you today.

Oh, and there is a zero per cent chance of rain. How’s that for a Thursday treat?

• A printed dress to celebrate the oncoming weekend
• Sandals: it may be April, but if it still feels like summer, then why not?

Perth

You’ve had a pretty good run, weather-wise Perth. But it’s time to bring those temperatures down.

The city will reach a top of 23 degrees today, with a 30 per cent chance rain will fall. There may also be some smoke and smog around this morning.

Fail-safe outfit options:

• Some loose-fitting pants, because a seven degree temperature drop might feel a little chilly
• Pack an umbrella just in case you get caught in the rain

Sydney

The city will hit a maximum of 24 degrees today, with a chance of rain falling most likely in the afternoon.

A thunderstorm is likely to develop in the city’s west in the afternoon, so, umbrellas at the ready.

• Since the rain seems to be easing (a little), a pair of fun ballet flats will be perfect today
• A leather jacket to remind yourself that if the weather can be cool, you can be too
