LEIGH CAMPBELL: '2025’s big trend that nails both fashion and function.'

Welcome to the Nothing To Wear Edit where each week we curate the best picks from the topic we spoke about on the podcast. Listen to the full episode here.

Tamara Holland joined me again on week's episode of Nothing To Wear, chatting about a bunch of trends that are set to be big this year.

Active accents and sport-inspired touches are coming through in almost every aspect of apparel for the coming season. There's the preppy polo or tennis aesthetic, or more traditionally feminine details inspired by active pursuits like yoga and ballet.

Our outwear is also taking cue from the casual side of sportswear, even if you're throwing it on over jeans or a dress to go to work or lunch. Everything from your classic trench coat to cropped bomber jacket are integrating utilitarian elements in both cut and fabric.

What's called 'waterproofs' will be big. And as the name suggests, it's outerwear that will take you anywhere, no matter the weather. Forget the daggy plastic raincoat you only call on when you're desperate, your autumn winter jacket will keep you dry but look cool enough to wear when it's sunny.

Designers like Zimmermann, Bottega Vanetta, Chloe, The Attico and Ralph Lauren all featured wind-breaker style oversized looks paired unexpectedly with flowing maxi skirts and heels.

Here's my edit of the best parkas, anoraks, trenches and jackets that pass the water-resistant test.
