Netflix's new reality show about football WAGs is just as messy as expected.

Dust off your footy jersey and Spotify playlist because the wives of some of the biggest sports and hip-hop stars have their own reality show.

Netflix's newest reality series, the aptly titled W.A.G.s to Riches, just dropped with all eight episodes streaming simultaneously on the platform. The show offers viewers an intimate look into the lives of women living it up in Miami, who are dating or married to high-profile athletes and celebrities.

I've checked out the first two episodes, and it's abundantly clear that these women have their own stories, success and social lives that are separate to their connections to famous men.

The show promises to tackle real issues these women face, along with "settling scores" and "handling side chicks."

Watch the trailer. Post continues after video.

The cast features nine socialites living in Miami, balancing their careers, family life and, of course, drama with the other women.

The leader of the bunch is Sharelle Rosado, an opinionated military veteran, mother of four, and CEO of Allure Realty with three locations. She is the former fiancée of NFL legend Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson, with their engagement ending in October 2024.

She often butts heads with Lastonia 'Stoni' Leviston, the owner of luxury fashion boutique Instatique and mother to Rick Ross's first child.

The breakout star of the group has to be Maranda Johnson, who is also the youngest member. The charismatic real estate agent and aspiring rap artist has two children with rapper Kodak Black. The first episode ends with her being arrested, so believe me, you will be hooked on the drama that seems to follow this enigmatic woman.

Then there's drama queen Julz Goddard, who is the founder of 1 AM Creative Agency, and ex-fiancée of NFL player Duke Riley and mother to their daughter.

Mother of two with a third child on the way, Porsha Berto, is the wife of retired boxer Andre Berto, a real estate agent, and owner of the Bad Bxtch Good Mom brand.

The 'Barbie doll' of the gang is Sadé Vanessa, a glamorous TV host and the owner of a swimwear business who is engaged to NFL player Robbie Chosen Anderson.

The rest of the cast is rounded out by Alexis Welch Stoudemire, ex-wife of NBA star Amar'e Stoudemire; Ashley Wheeler, the wife of former NFL player Philip Wheeler; and Keeta Hill who is married to NFL star Tyreek Hill.

Like its predecessors, The Real Housewives franchise and newer concepts like Married To Medicine and Love and Hip Hop, there's plenty of drama brewing between these women.

From the outset, there is a clear divide between Stoni and some of the other women, especially Sharelle who kicks off the series by slut-shaming her for an intimate video that was leaked by an ex when she was younger.

It's not the nicest way to begin a series, as the viewer is left feeling sorry for Stoni, who is often attacked without any provocation.

Thankfully, with the drama comes the fun, aka Maranda, who is a hilarious presence throughout the series. She's clearly a star and every scene she's in, she can't help but steal attention with her charisma and commanding presence.

W.A.G.s to Riches is a fun, chaotic, easy-to-watch reality show with enough heroes and villains to keep you invested.

Will it have enough impact to break Netflix's one-season curse that has afflicted most of its reality shows of late? I'm not fully convinced, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.
