A quick peek inside my skincare cupboard right now, and you'll find… a vibrator. No, not that kind of vibrator, OK?

What I'm actually talking about is an eye cream. One that vibrates.

Please give a warm welcome to the VT Cosmetics Reedle Shot Lifting Eye Cream.

I've tried my fair share of eye creams over the years — from drugstore dermatologist-approved formulas to super luxe ones that sent me broke — and I thought I'd seen it all. But then this little vibrating tube landed on my radar.

Here's everything you need to know about this innovative little gadget-meets-beauty product.

What is the VT Cosmetics Reedle Shot Lifting Eye Cream?

This Korean skincare product is exactly what it sounds like: a lifting eye cream designed to restore skin elasticity while giving your delicate under-eye area a hydration boost.

It's formulated with the brand's patented Cica Reedle™ technology, which soothes the skin, supports skin turnover and improves texture. It also contains Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 plus Human Umbilical Mesenchymal Stem Cell Conditioned Media Extract, which are basically fancy ways of saying it helps firm fine lines and wrinkles, and reduces the appearance of dark circles.

The cream is then stabilised into three microcosms within a liposome formula, which are absorbed deep into the skin via vibrations.

And just to be clear, these vibrations aren't a gimmick.

If you think about it, traditional eye creams that rely on manual application can result in uneven pressure and inconsistent absorption. So, the 12,000 micro-vibrations per minute in this VT Cosmetics product allow for the cream to be delivered with precise, consistent pressure over the delicate eye area for even and seamless absorption.

How do I use the vibrating eye cream?

Open the product cap and squeeze the tube gently until the cream is released. Now, press the tube against your skin and massage along the outer corner of your eyes toward the inner corner, moving to between the brows in a "W" motion.

You can also use it beyond your under-eyes:

  • Nasolabial folds: Lightly massage along the lines beneath your cheekbones, beside your nose and around your mouth.

  • Neck: Glide upward from the tip of your chin to behind your right ear, then sweep down along the right side of your neck. Repeat on the other side.

  • Full-face massage: Follow the natural contours of your face in gentle "W" or upward motions to give every area a hydration boost and a little lift.

Where can I buy it in Australia?

VT Cosmetics' Reedle Shot Lifting Eye Cream is stocked at multiple online retailers in Australia, but my favourite for the best deals is Lila Beauty. There, you can find a 15ml tube for $39.95 (usually $58). And they often run extra discounts on top of that.

Refills are available, too, for $33.95 (usually $45). Just detach the old tube from the motor head and swap it with the new one. The refill can also be used on its own without attaching it to the vibrating applicator.

VT Cosmetics Reedle Shot Lifting Eye Cream review.

If you've read any of my previous beauty stories, you'll know I'm a huge fan of VT Cosmetics, especially their microneedling-in-a-bottle Reedle Shot facial serum (read my review here) and their shampoo (review here). So yes, I had high expectations for this eye cream.

But simply put: this product is like no other formula on the market.

After a few weeks of consistent use, I noticed my under-eyes looked brighter and less puffy (even after as little as three hours of sleep). The texture is the definition of lightweight, it has zero scent (a massive win for me), and it absorbs lightning fast.

I've been loyal to the Beauty of Joseon eye cream for over 15 years, and yet, this vibrating formula made me reconsider everything I thought I knew about eye creams. When a product can get me to switch up from my tried-and-true favourite, you know it's REALLY good.

There are a few other vibrating eye creams out there, but most of them will cost you an arm and a leg (I also can't speak for their effectiveness and quality). But this VT Cosmetics version is reasonably priced at $58 (when not on sale), and in my experience, it actually works. For a gadget-meets-skin product, that's a cost I'm willing to invest in.

Sure, to some, the vibrating factor may come across as a little extra. But since finding this little gem, every other eye cream I now own just feels, well, boring.
