New revelations out of the Stephanie Scott case.
Accused murderer Vincent Stanford has been charged with sexually assaulting Stephanie Scott before allegedly taking her life.
Police have charged 24-year-old Stanford with aggravated sexual assault and inflicting bodily harm on Ms Scott.
The school cleaner is on trial today for Ms Scott’s assault and murder in the NSW town of Leeton.
Fairfax Media reports that police will allege Stanford raped Ms Scott between 1.40pm and 2pm on April 5.
It is believed the pair crossed paths while Ms Scott visited Leeton High School on the weekend, to prepare lessons for a substitute teacher ahead of her honeymoon.
While Mr Stanford’s employers say he wasn’t supposed to be working that day, they are investigating whether he had keys.
Ms Scott’s disappearance made headlines earlier this year after she went missing only days before she was due to marry the love of her life, Aaron Leeson-Woolley.
The partially burned body of the 26-year-old school teacher was found five days later in Cocoparra National Park, believed to be where Mr Stanford went camping.
Mr Stanford will appear in Griffith local court via video link today.
