Twisted Metal on Stan is action-packed, darkly funny, and will have you glued to the screen.

If you're looking for an action-packed watch, you can't go wrong with Twisted Metal on Stan.

The series, which is now in its second season on Stan, is based on the popular video game of the same name and is set in a post-apocalyptic world. This is a series populated with wild stories of survival and memorable characters brought to life by some pretty critically acclaimed actors whose resumes are packed with blockbuster movie franchises and beloved long-running comedies.

Season one of Twisted Metal introduced us to a version of Earth where a computer bug had effectively shut down life as we know it. 20 years after this catastrophic event, humans either live in walled cities under martial law or take their chances in the lawless outside world run by criminals.

Take a look at the trailer for Twisted Metal season two on Stan.

In this perilous outside world lives John Doe (played by Anthony Mackie), a 'milkman' tasked with transporting rare and valuable goods between the exclusive cities but never allowed within the safety of the high walls. In the first season, John was tasked by the mayor of New San Francisco to make a particularly dangerous run, and was offered citizenship inside its walls if he was successful.

During the dangerous run, John encountered and eventually formed a strong relationship with a scavenger on a revenge mission named Quiet (played by Stephanie Beatriz), and together the two of them battled everything from cannibals to religious fanatics and a sadistic clown named Sweet Tooth (voiced by Will Arnett and performed by wrestler Joe Seanoa) who thankfully makes an appearance in season two.

Twisted Metal is a fast-paced series packed with edge-of-your-seat action sequences, impressive stunts, wild characters, and some pretty surprising plot twists. But the one surprising element you might be missing if you've only watched the trailer is the fact that this series also includes some pretty compelling performances from its lead characters.

Beatriz's Quiet is a layered character whose tragic backstory slowly makes itself known as the show progresses, and she has excellent on-screen chemistry with Mackie's John Doe. For his part, the always charismatic Mackie absolutely shines as John, and it's quite clear he's having the time of his life in this role.

In season one, the audience learned that John had suffered an injury that caused him to lose his memory, and in season two, even more of his backstory is revealed, including the introduction of his estranged sister Dollface (played by Tiana Okoye), and their new sibling dynamic is a truly engrossing part of the series.

At the end of season one, John and Quiet were separated after only one of them was allowed into the safety of a walled city. In season two, we see them find their way back to each other and enter the dangerous Twisted Metal tournament, a very sinister demolition derby hosted by a menacing man known as Calypso (played by Anthony Carrigan).

Quiet and John's relationship is tested in new ways throughout season two of Twisted Metal, not only due to new enemies for them to battle, weapons to steal, and dangerous forces to evade, but also due to their differences of opinion on where their allegiances should lie.

Quiet presses John to reconnect with his sister Dollface, of whom he has no memory of due to his amnesia, while John believes Quiet has been brainwashed by his estranged sister's group and thinks the two of them should go out just on their own.

The evolution of their relationship (and their budding romance, and I for one am desperate for those crazy kids to work it out and get together), along with the action of the Twisted Metal tournament, an event fans of the game have been waiting with bated breath to see, makes for an unmissable season two of this series.

Overall, Twisted Metal on Stan is a fun and fast-paced watch, brimming with action, plot twists, and memorable characters that will appeal to an audience that has never heard of the video games and fans of the franchise alike, with plenty of nods to the iconic game peppered throughout the series.

Plus, any TV show that features a violent but slightly lovable clown driving about the post-apocalyptic wastelands in an ice-cream van should automatically be placed at the top of your watch list.
