Trump joked about testing Princess Diana for HIV before sex. Yes, really.

Newly released audio of an interview between the now-President and radio personality Howard Stern shows just how confident Trump was that he could have wooed the People’s Princess.

The interview took place in November 1997, just months after Princess Diana was killed in a car crash in a Parisian tunnel.

In the recordings, released to website Factbase, close friends Trump and Stern joke about asking women to be tested for HIV before agreeing to sex.

“When you have sex with all these different women you’ve got to be nervous about AIDS, herpes, venereal warts, anal warts,” Stern said.

"So what do you do? You just wear a rubber and hope... for the best?"

Trump responded that he could send "lots of people that you really like to the doctor before you ever get to know them".

Later in the same interview, Stern and Trump joke that the now-President "could have nailed" Princess Diana.

"You could've gotten her, right? You could have nailed her," Stern joked, before Trump added it would have been "tough" to ask her to get a doctor's checkup before sex.

"Hey, Lady Di, would you go to the doctor?" Stern joked.

"Go back over to my Lexus because I have a new doctor, we wanna give you a little check up," Trump said.

When Stern noted that Diana was "not attractive", Trump clarified that he found her "really beautiful".

"I thought she was supermodel beautiful," he said.

"She had times when she didn't look great, and sometimes you look better than anybody in the world. But she was super model.

"She had the height, she had this, she had magnificent skin."

Stern then asked if Trump had ever "pleasured himself" while thinking about her, to which Trump replied "never".

It's not the first time Trump's bizarre 'obsession' with the Princess has been made public: in 2015, a British television journalist, Selina Scott, claimed that Trump was so 'smitten' with Princess Diana he bombarded her Kensington Palace home with bouquets of flowers following her divorce from Prince Charles.

"Trump clearly saw Diana as the ultimate trophy wife," she said, according to The Times.

"As the roses and orchids piled up at her apartment she became increasingly concerned about what she should do. It had begun to feel as if Trump was stalking her."

Scott added Diana confided that Trump "gave her the creeps".
