A woman has died and five people have been injured after a large eucalyptus tree fell during a wedding in Southern California.
The bridal party were lining up to have photographs taken in Whittier’s Penn Park when the tree, estimated to be around 60-feet tall, collapsed.
In an official police statement, Whittier police revealed that a four year old was among the injured and she is in critical condition due to head injuries.

According to witnesses, a loud crack was heard as the tree fell.
“We just heard something crack, like, really hard, and people were yelling,” Witness Anahi Vazquez told KTLA.
Photographer Gilbert Duran was taking pictures of a quinceañera (fifteenth birthday) party near the tree just moments earlier.
“We walk away and five minutes later this thing collapses on a whole wedding party,” he said according to news.com.au.
“I just seen a bunch of kids, little kids … they were running for their life and this thing just fell on top of them. I watched them go flat.”
