Tones and I has opened up about experiencing pregnancy loss during rehearsals, the night before she played a huge show on her national tour.
The Australian artist, whose real name is Toni Watson, shared that mere hours before playing Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena, she ended up in hospital.
In a long Instagram post, she shared her story.
"The day before the biggest show of my career so far, I was in rehearsals with 30 choir, 30 dancers and 50 crew, our final dress rehearsals after years of dreaming and months of organising," the singer's post began.
"I was at the point of the show where I just hit the big note in 'To Be Loved' the first song off my latest album, as I hit the big note I felt blood running down my legs, usually an awkward but manageable situation, especially since this was a rehearsal and not a show, except... I was 9 weeks pregnant."
Tones and I said she knew immediately what was happening.
"I wasn't planning on telling people, and I was completely prepared to resort back to the baggy jumpers and pants I once was known for. But here I was, almost 100 per cent I was having a miscarriage, the night before the biggest show of my career," she wrote.
From there, she went with her husband, Jimmy Bedford, to a nearby hospital.
"Jimmy and I left rehearsals and we were at the hospital by 8:30pm. The pain started to kick in and after not sleeping that night I was told I was having a miscarriage," she continued.
