Timothée Hal Chalamet is one of the defining actors of his generation. He's also a goof.
He may be a celebrated thespian with Academy Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations under his belt, but he's also got the kind of unhinged digital footprint one can only acquire over years of genuinely true-to-his-soul chaos.
Our first taste of the man behind the tiny moustache came when his 'Lil Timmy Tim' rap persona was unmasked. As his fame grew in 2017, an old assignment for his teacher Miss Lawton — a rap about 'statistics' — went viral. He received a D+ for the absurd video, and cemented his place in our hearts as a lovable little weirdo. As his fame has grown, Timothée has not lost an ounce of his silly persona.
His latest endeavour into the realm of ridiculousness comes courtesy of his press tour for A Complete Unknown.
The biopic follows Bob Dylan's early years in the music industry from age 19, and it's already seen Timothée nominated for a Golden Globe Award for his 'incredible' portrayal.
The film even got the seal of approval from Bob Dylan himself, who shared that Timothée was "brilliant" and encouraged his fans to see it in theatres.
Amid a college football rendezvous and an appearance with a marching band, Timothée took the time to thank Dylan for his support.
"Floored. I'm so grateful," the actor wrote in response.
In honour of his new film, Timothée recently took himself on a whimsical tour of… Minnesota. Why? Because Dylan grew up in Minnesota and between 1959 and 1960 he was enrolled at the University of Minnesota, while establishing himself in the local music scene, before leaving to pursue his career in New York.
