The 'throw on and go' dress, or TOAG, is a concept coined by Aussie personal stylist and content creator Tina Abeysekara.

She essentially gave us a name for a style women have been turning to in the throes of outfit panic for decades.

Whether it's a summery kaftan or an office-ready shirt-dress, it's all about the appeal of having one piece that's simple to style — just add accessories and you're out the door.

TOAG dresses aren't just a fallback option for me, they're a go-to staple. I've compiled half a closet's worth of dressier and more casual styles that bring ease to the whole process of getting ready.

I've also noticed they're the outfits I'm most often complimented on.

As we approach summer, I've been on the lookout for TOAG options that work for this transseasonal weather.

My criteria is as follows:

• It has to have sleeves.

• It needs to be comfortable enough to wear all day.

• Styling-wise, it should be able to lean dressy or casual.

• It has to feel stylish, and not like I'm wearing a mumu.
