The most compelling theories about who dies in The White Lotus all in one place.

The White Lotus has well and truly arrived for Season 3, and this time, we're at a luxury wellness retreat in Thailand.

The star-studded cast includes returning cast members Natasha Rothwell as Belinda and Jon Gries as Greg, along with a host of fresh faces.

Like past seasons, every character has a new set of personal problems they've brought along with their actual baggage.

For instance, Jason Isaacs plays the head of the Ratliff family, a man facing potential financial ruin, while a trio of childhood besties (played by Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, and Carrie Coon) have long-brewing animosity simmering under the surface.

The season opened dramatically with gunshots at the resort and the discovery of a floating body, witnessed by Belinda's son Zion.

This mysterious death sets up another compelling murder mystery, following the show's tradition of revealing its victims through a flash-forward in the opening episode.

Only two characters are confirmed to be safe: Belinda's son Zion and hotel worker Amrita, who are in a meditation session when the shooting occurs.

So like, whose body is that? There are many theories.

"They're all in some kind of hurt," show creator Mike White told Time about the Season 3 guests. "Like, they're all dead, but they don't know it."

But who is actually dead, like dead dead? Let's discuss!

Greg/Gary.

Now this would be a murder we could all get around!

We all know Greg as the loser ex-husband of Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge), who was plotting her death to steal her fortune.

He's back in Season 3 with a new name, Gary, and his presence near the resort and connection to hotel owner, Sritala Hollinger, is already raising suspicions about another potential scheme.

In recent episodes, he was recognised by Belinda who has started digging into what actually happened to Tanya. Considering that Tanya abandoned her business plans with the spa owner in favour of pursuing Greg in Season 1, Belinda could be keen on revenge.

Could she have booked Greg in for a spa session, only to serve him a cup of poisonous pong pong fruit tea? This is my own personal theory!

Greg/Gary is the only character to appear in all three seasons of The White Lotus, but I don't think many viewers would be sad to see him go.

And considering that the deaths on this show tend to be played off as comedy, this murder would fit the tone of the series.

In one of the most elaborate theories so far, a TikToker @lexopedia0 has put forward the idea that the Ratliff family are connected to the mysterious family of Michael Peterson, who were depicted in the documentary, The Staircase.

ICYMI: Michael was accused of murdering his wife Kathleen, who was found dead at the bottom of a staircase, but he has always maintained an owl attacked her.

The TikTok user noted the parallels between their stories: both the Ratliffs and the Petersons were affluent families living in Durham, North Carolina with the patriarch of the family caught up in some illegal activity.

This TikToker believes that this is no coincidence, in fact, it points to the fate of Victoria.

"In The Staircase, there is an owl theory that owls killed Kathleen Peterson. In The White Lotus, the monkeys are going to kill Victoria Ratliff," she said.

"All the deaths in The White Lotus have been silly and accidental. I don't think Season 3 will be any different. The monkeys are going to kill Victoria Ratliff and that's the body floating by."

The father of the twisted Ratliff clan could be a prime suspect for murder due to his precarious financial situation and looming prison time.

The phone call at the end of Episode 4 suggests he's under significant stress, and could potentially harm himself or others.

From the beginning, this character appears to be on brink of a breakdown, with a distressing phone call in the latest episode making it clear something is happening back home that could come back to bite him. Perhaps, in Thailand?

Rick.

Another man on The White Lotus that is truly going through it.

Rick has a vendetta against the hotel owner's husband, Jim Hollinger, who he claims killed his father. Could this vendetta turn violent?

In past episodes, he opened up about his tragic past: his father was murdered before his birth and his mother died from a drug overdose when he was 10.

This man is no stranger to tragedy, so could history come to repeat itself? Or will his grudge against Jim become deadly?

Jaclyn.

Some have speculated that celebrity guest Jaclyn might be the victim, noting her suspicious behaviour when questioned about her appearance and medical treatments.

Her funding of the friends' trip, reckless behaviour and interest in the resort's wellness program could be a red flag for an underlying health issue.

There's also A LOT of tension growing between Jaclyn and her other friends, Laurie and Kate. Could one turn to murder?

A celebrity being killed in cold blood by her frenemy does sound like something that only Mike White's twisted mind would come up with.

Belinda.

I really hope this doesn't happen, but her son's presence in the opening scene and her mention of calling police in a promo make Belinda a possible target.

I don't think the fans could take it!

I can't imagine how a son finding his dead mother would fly in this comedy, but one thing we know about The White Lotus is that the show is full of surprises.

These are, of course, just some theories, and we will all just have to keep watching to find out what happens.
