After this photo of Hilary Clinton wearing no make-up went viral, the US Secretary of State responded saying 'You know at some point it's just not something that deserves a lot of time and attention.'

Just months before the presidential election, US President Barack Obama declared his support of same sex marriage. Following the announcement, Australia's PM Julia Gillard said she remained opposed to gay marriage.

A self portrait created by Amy Winehouse using her own blood was part of an exhibition of singer Pete Doherty's work. The painting will be auctioned next month.
