Everything we know about The Summer I Turned Pretty movie.

If you were screaming at the TV last night during the finale episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty, surprise! It's over yet, and we're going back to Cousins.

Many fans felt the finale was a *tad rushed*, but there's no need to mourn those lost moments with our favourite characters yet.

Literally hours after season three wrapped on Prime Video, Jenny Han (the genius behind both the books and the show) announced that we're getting a movie to officially close out the series. Cue the screaming.

The announcement dropped at the season three finale celebration in Paris, where the cast posed in front of a cinema marquee that simply read: The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie

Fans immediately lost it, and honestly, same.

If you thought last night's finale was the end of Belly's story… well, thank goodness you're mistaken.

But like… where do we go from here???

*Warning spoiler alerts for The Summer I Turned Pretty below*

What is the plot of The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie?

If you've been putting Jeremiah Fisher in mental jail all of season three and waiting for the big 'Conrad and Belly reunite' moment, you're probably pretty happy with how the finale episode panned out.

However, many fans (including us) were sad that we didn't get more time to enjoy the majesty that is Bonrad when they're finally together again.

I mean a train reunion scene, a pan out of them holding hands at Cousins? A little page-flip montage of them taking cringey photos of each other in Paris at Christmas?

It's not enough!

So it makes sense that we're due for a movie to finish their story, but what will it cover? Ed's note: Please no more heartbreak to sad Taylor Swift songs, we can't take it!

Jenny has kept details pretty tight-lipped, but she did say there's "another big milestone left in Belly's journey" — one that could only be told in a film.

Translation: we're heading into the part of the books that fans have been waiting (and crying) for.

The series finale reunited Belly and Conrad, but didn't show the next step: their wedding.

In the books, Jenny writes toward that happily-ever-after, so it's safe to assume the movie will give us the closure we've been craving. But fans are also wondering if it will show them as a normal couple first — not just racing down the aisle.

After everything these two have put us through, we deserve to see them living together, laughing, bickering, being real.

And the other characters?

Jeremiah — the golden retriever boyfriend, turned devil, turned chef — didn't get his forever with Belly, but he still has Denise, his colleague, turned roommate, turned girlfriend?

Whether their relationship continues into the movie is still up in the air, but Jenny has promised this is about wrapping up everyone's story.

Meanwhile, Taylor and Steven's romance became a scene-stealing highlight in season three, and fans are begging to see more of them.

From the looks of it, the movie will give that subplot the time it deserves, given we have Steven, Taylor, Denise and likely Jeremiah all moving to San Francisco. (Imagine the chaos of Taylor planning Belly's *second* wedding? Inject it directly into my veins.)

Location, location, location.

While Belly spent the end of the last season largely on her secondment to Paris, we ended the finale with her and Conrad back in the states for a summer in Cousins.

We can only assume Conrad will need to return to medical school at Stanford in the fall, which could mean a bit of back and forth over whether or not Belly also moves that way.

But, it would make the most sense for the plot.

For those not up on their US geography, Stanford is located between San Francisco and San Jose, so it would see all our favourite characters living very close together on the West Coast.

Wait… is Susannah back?

Yes, actually. Actress Rachel Blanchard (aka Susannah, the heart of the Fisher family) was seen at the press events for the movie announcement this morning. That means we'll definitely see her again, most likely in flashbacks or dream sequences.

And honestly, what's TSITP without a little Susannah magic?

What is the release date for The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie?

There's no release date yet — but considering how quickly this was announced after the finale, fans are convinced filming might already be underway.

If that's the case, we could be reunited with Belly, Conrad and co sooner than we think (please, not summer 2030).

For now, all we know is: the love triangle may be over, but this world isn't finished with us yet.

And if Jenny Han says there's one more chapter left, you better believe we'll be there on premiere night with tissues, popcorn, and a group chat blowing up.
