The biggest celebrity feud to come out of the 2025 Golden Globes.

The 2025 Golden Globes certainly delivered some iconic moments. While we loved the speeches and ate up every minute of celeb romance, it was the celeb feuds that really had us in a tight choke hold.

One viral moment that ignited rumours of a feud was between Demi Moore and Kylie Jenner. Very random, I know. After her win for her role in The Substance, Moore was seen having a conversation with Elle Fanning and, very briefly, Timothée Chalamet at their table. She seemingly dodged speaking to Kylie Jenner, and the internet quickly lit up with clips of the interaction.

However, rumours that the actress had ignored Jenner were quickly put to bed when Moore's daughter, Tallulah Willis, came out to defend her mother.

"We spent the new year with Elle, so connecting with her after a win was a very organic thing to do," she then explained. "This angel was in total shock and delight and moving throughout a warm room of well-wishers.

"There was not snub of any sort," she wrote. "Had she seen KJ wanting to congratulate her she would have fully given her the time and space."

See? No drama here, folks.

But the real drama, and undoubtedly the biggest celebrity feud to come out of the evening, was not between Moore and Jenner. It was a beef with strong historical significance: Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel. If you know, you know.

Let's set the scene. Vin Diesel was presenting the award for cinematic and box office achievement on the Golden Globes stage. He walked slowly across the stage, looked out to the audience, and we saw his eyes lock onto someone. He took a slight pause before a smile came over his face.

"Hey Dwayne," Diesel said.

The camera panned down to Johnson in the audience. He made a half smile and then awkwardly stopped. Safe to say, he didn't seem to appreciate the joke.

If you have not been privy to the drama, Diesel and Johnson have been in an intense feud for years now, since they starred together in The Fate of the Furious. So, this weird moment at The Globes was a pretty big deal. Here's what went down between the two action stars, leading to the Golden Globes encounter.

In August 2016, Johnson put up a slightly controversial Instagram post about how difficult it was to work with certain members of the Fast and Furious cast.

"Some [male costars] conduct themselves as stand-up men and true professionals, while others don't," he said.

"The ones that don't are too chicken s*** to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I'm not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling — you're right."

And with the words "candy asses", a feud was born.

When filming for The Fate of the Furious wrapped that same month, Diesel posted a video about how happy he was to be back home with his 'family' on-set. Very wholesome. But he also made an ominous statement that had fans wondering what really went down between him and Johnson while filming.

"Honestly, give me a second and I will tell you everything. Everything," Diesel said at the time.

In a strange turn of events, ahead of The Fate of the Furious release, Diesel told USA Today that they were actually friends and claimed Johnson was known as "Uncle Dwayne" in his house.

"I protect the franchise," he said. "I protect everybody, including Dwayne. I protected Dwayne more than he'll ever know. And it doesn't matter. He doesn't have to know. But he appreciates it. He knows it. Dwayne has only got one Vin in his life. Dwayne Johnson only has one big brother in this film world and that's me."

Weird. Very weird.

While Johnson never responded to Diesel's previous comments, in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2018 he was asked about the lack of scenes between himself and Diesel in Fate of the Furious. His response was simple.

"That is correct. We were not in any scenes together." So I guess that's that.

But in September 2019, we were given whiplash, once again, when Johnson shared an Instagram video where he specifically thanked Diesel for his support of the spin-off film, Hobbs & Shaw.

"Lastly, but not least, want to thank brother Vin for your support of Hobbs & Shaw," he said. "I'll be seeing you soon, Toretto."

So, friends again. I think?

But by June 2021, Vin Diesel had sparked renewed discussion about the feud, sharing with Men's Health that bringing the Hobbs character to life required him to use "tough love."

"As a producer to say, 'okay, we're going to take Dwayne Johnson, who's associated with wrestling, and we're going to force this cinematic world, audience members, to regard his character as someone that they don't know' — Hobbs hits you like a ton of bricks," he said.

And it seems his comments did not sit well with Johnson.

When asked about the "tough love" remarks, Johnson simply said, "I laughed and I laughed hard."

Now, let's be honest. No one has really thought of this feud in years. But Diesel's recent shenanigans at the Golden Globes have reignited a whole investigation into the lore behind the cringe-worthy interaction and introduced a new generation to one of Hollywood's most confusing beefs.
