We just witnessed the most hilarious interview in the history of The Project.
It was with a bloke named James Fowler, who’s sure there is a “big, black cat” on the prowl in his hometown of Glenwood, north of Gympie.
The 16-year-old national hero told the show’s hosts he and his dog Buffy came face-to-face with it in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
He also told them he was definitely not “trippin’ balls” ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .

James said he went out for a smoke, just after midnight, he heard his dog “going off behind the water tank”.
He went to investigate and saw what he thought was a feral cat.
Later, with the dog still “going off”, James investigated further and came across what he called an “aggressive looking giant cat”.
“It was a little one I seen to start off with,” he explained.
“The second one was really big so I think the first one we seen was a feral cat or offspring of the big one.”
The Project hosts then asked just how big he thought the cat was.
“Oh, about a metre long, about maybe 1.2 metres long,” he responded.
“I’m 5’11’, I probably look short on the camera as usual, but it stood up to my belly button. It’s bigger than the Bull Arab dog we have here and it had some pretty mean teeth on it.”
When asked what he would say to the people who don’t believe his story, James said: “Well, I hope… I don’t hope you come across it but if you do, don’t come back to me and say you’re sorry.”
He also made sure the audience knew he wasn’t “trippin’ balls” during the giant cat sighting.
“Um, I was smoking tobacco. There was no alcohol involved, just so you know. Yeah, so I definitely wasn’t tripping balls, so that’s alright. I definitely seen what I seen,” he said to Peter Helliar.
The teen said the whole encounter only lasted about 13 seconds and he waved his knife around to scare the giant, mystical – definitely not hallucinated – cat away.
Yep, this was definitely the best thing to happen on Australian TV this year.
