The first trailer for Prime Video’s new sci-fi thriller series The Peripheral has just been released.

Amazon Prime Video is set to gift us a new TV show and it comes in the form of an eerie, dystopian series based on the best-selling novel by William Gibson. 

It's called The Peripheral and it's the next apocalyptic thriller you'll want to add to your watch list.

Here's everything we know about the Amazon Prime Video series, The Peripheral. 

What is The Peripheral about? 

The dystopian sci-fi series explores two separate periods of the future - one in a not-so-distant future and another in the early 22nd century where the world is struggling after an apocalyptic event takes place.

Flynn (Chloë Grace Moretz), who is the main character in The Peripheral, is struggling to keep her family together. She may be witty, brilliant and ambitious, but she is also doomed - because her future is naught. 

After she takes on her own brother's security job in what they both believe is cyberspace, Flynn soon discovers something that could possibly change her future forever. 

Wilf (Gary Carr) is the other main character in the series, and he lives in the 22nd century.

Who stars in The Peripheral? 

The new Prime Video show stars Chloë Grace Moretz from Kick-Ass, Jack Reynor from Midsommar, Gary Carr from The Deuce, Eli Goree from One Night in Miami, and Louis Herthum from Westworld.

Fans will also be pleased to know that The Peripheral cast also includes JJ Feild, T’Nia Miller, Charlotte Riley, Alexandra Billings, Adelind Horan, Alex Hernandez, Katie Leung, Julian Moore-Cook, Melinda Page Hamilton, Chris Coy and Austin Rising.

When does The Peripheral come out?

The first episode of The Peripheral will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, October 21. New episodes will then premiere weekly.
