Foreman Keith left The Block for his family. But now there's more to the story.

The Block 2024 had everything. Stunning homes, incredible auction results, and, of course, plenty of drama.

There was a flirtatious 'cheating scandal,' multiple dramatic exits, and even accusations of a 'rigged' auction day.

The show may be over, but the drama is not. Here's all the gossip you want to know about Season 20 of The Block, in one place.

Foreman Keith reveals why he *really* left The Block

When Foreman Keith Schleiger took a step back from The Block earlier this year, he told Nine that his two-hour commute to Phillip Island wasn't feasible.

"I couldn't see a way of seeing my children more than once a week or something like that," Keith said.

"I would have to live down there. That was always going to be very hard, and it just didn't feel it was the right thing to do at the time — I don't really want to spend three months without them."

While this, no doubt, played a part in Keith's decision to step back, it seems the time away has allowed the foreman to reflect on his time on the show — and air some grievances in the process.

"Imagine you are a builder and you have got some contestant who has got no idea about building and you're giving them an instruction and they tell you to get stuffed," he told the Your Haus & Home podcast in December.

"All these amateurs, they have got no idea what they are doing; we are building beautiful homes for people. I never got why people would argue with me. It just did not make sense."

Keith went on to acknowledge that he used to get "grumpy" on television, but insisted "there was a reason for it".

"[I had] some d**khead just giving me grief, and it wasn't warranted," he said. "If I'm a subbie [subcontractor] going on site, and I've got a foreman giving me instruction, you've just gotta follow it. There's no ifs or buts."

Needless to say, we doubt he'll be returning for 2025.

Jesse and Paige elope.

In happier news, in November, Jesse and Paige tied the knot in a 'secret' ceremony in Paris, after postponing their original wedding plans following their exit from The Block.

"Husband and wife," Paige simply captioned a beautiful photo from their nuptials.

"Eloping felt like the most authentic way to celebrate our love and this commitment we were both ready to make to one another. A way to focus on what truly matters," she told Yahoo Lifestyle.

"Paris holds a special place in our relationship — it's a city we like to visit often, it's a city that is intimate, timeless and romantic, and it made for the ideal setting to begin this chapter in such a special way. And it's not too bad having a reason to head back for every anniversary."

So sweet!

Kylie removes Brad's name from her Instagram bio.

Okay, we had our light and fluffy update, and now it's back to chaos.

As claimed by The Daily Mail, Kylie reportedly removed Brad's name from her Instagram bio — with the publication alleging this was linked to a rift in their marriage.

However, Brad was also commenting on Kylie's latest Instagram posts so we're not entirely sure this is… you know… evidence of any sort.

The latest update we had from them directly, was their appearance on The Block finale, where they confirmed they were still together.

Adrian Portelli eyed by another reality TV show.

A new report has claimed billionaire bidder Adrian Portelli is 'in talks' to star in a rival TV show in 2025.

A TV executive has revealed to New Idea that "phones are ringing off the hook" for Adrian — who they called "TV magic" following his latest appearance.

"Adrian has managed to do what so many TV shows and talent have failed to do recently and that is captivate audiences," they said. "He could easily produce and host a renovation-type show of his very own."

We'll have to wait and see if Portelli will return to our screens again in future, but for now he's bid farewell to The Block itself.

In the season finale, he confirmed he wouldn't be returning to the Channel Nine show on future auction days.

A secret clause for The Block contestants.

The Season 20 winners, Maddy and Charlotte, walked away with an impressive $1.65 million following their successful auction day result. But it turns out they — and all the other contestants — won't be receiving cash right away.

"You don't get it for 12 months," a former contestant has told Yahoo Lifestyle. "It's spread over that period so you don't talk bad on the show and if so, you don't get your money."

The report comes after 2023 contestants Eliza and Liberty revealed to the same publication that they had not seen any of their $1.05 million prize money as of Febrary 2024.

But once they do receive their cash, they won't need to pay tax because you do not have to pay tax on lottery winnings or other prizes — which includes reality TV winnings.

So, is it really such a big deal that teams will need to wait? Not bad for a couple months work.

Adrian Portelli was accused of 'rigging' The Block.

Following his impressive auction day sweep — in which he bought all five houses on Phillip Island — Adrian Portelli was accused of rigging the show's results. And he's more than happy to admit why he did it.

"All the contestants were playing the game, so I thought I'd play the game back. I didn't want anyone to know what we were doing," he said on the show on Sunday night.

"We hand selected the auction order make sure the girls went last. So we can get them to win," Portelli said on Nova the morning after the finale. "It's the girls. They cared. They came in late. They were the underdogs. They were picked on. They were bullied."

As for the girls in question, Maddy and Charlotte are incredibly grateful.

"We're very very grateful and I think he's a good guy and he doesn't stand for that kind of [bullying] behaviour and neither do we. We're grateful that he supported us and obviously sent a message," Maddy told Mamamia of their win.

Is it rigged if one person buys all five homes and spends the most amount of money on the person they want to win? Eh, let's call it a grey area. And it's not like any of the contestants walked away empty-handed. The 'losers' in this scenario were Kylie and Brad, who made an impressive $650,000 above their reserve price.

All in all, Adrian Portelli did an incredible job showing up on auction day to deliver an epic result. Read more about his plans for the holiday homes here.

In a twist fit for prime-time drama, Kylie and Brad shocked fans (...again) with their reunion.

Appearing on A Current Affair on Wednesday night before the auction, the Queensland couple looked as close as ever as they confirmed to reporter Seb Costello that they'd decided to patch things up, after what they called the "flirt-gate" scandal that saw Kylie storm off the show.

Reflecting on their reconciliation, Brad shared, "We definitely learned some things along the way about just how much we can actually do, no matter what else has happened or is going to happen, we're still here and we're going to keep going."

Kylie, ever the firecracker, cheekily replied, "But did I learn anything?"

The Bakers, parents to four kids, have seemingly rekindled their romance, leaving fans with the burning question: will they make it to The Block finale this weekend?

Kylie hinted at a positive answer, saying, "We love everyone and we want everyone to come away from this with something achievable and a good result. I just stuck to my guns, and we just have to see the ending be the ending."

In the end, they did show up on auction day — telling producers they were happily back together and ready to celebrate their hard work alongside the other teams.

Mimi released a statement addressing the hate.

After being caught in a flirting scandal with Brad, Mimi received a lot of negative feedback from Block fans about her time on the show.

Now, she's released a lengthy statement on her Instagram, addressing the hate and reflecting on her experience on The Block.

"Perfect scores are hard to come by on The Block and to have received three 10s from the judges last night was surreal. But 'perfect' would be the last word I'd use to describe my experience on and after the show. It was heavily flawed," Mimi began.

She included a reminder that "that not one single person in this world is perfect and that we all make mistakes." However, Mimi made it clear that she is choosing to learn from this experience and grow for the better in the future.

"To be honest, there's no wrong or right answer, but choosing to learn from them is challenging, uncomfortable and will allow you to evolve and transform into a better version of yourself."

She finished her statement with an acknowledgement that she is always looking to better herself.

"Keeping up all of the positive and negative comments… will give me a better insight and help me continue to strive to be a better person every day," she said.

Looking toward Sunday night's finale episode, Mimi said that she wanted to remind everyone, including herself, "that there are so many layers to each and every one of us and it's important to embrace all of it".

In an interview on A Current Affair, Kylie also revealed she has quit drinking since filming the show.

"I've done a lot of work on myself, and in our relationship too," Mimi said.

"Mimi no longer drinks alcohol anymore, because she's been reflecting on the show and said I don't want to be that person," Kristian revealed.

"We can't sit here explaining ourselves to everyone, so I still have a lot of love for Kylie and we've all come out the other end. Hopefully," Mimi added.

Kylie quits The Block in sensational fashion.

Monday night's The Block took a shocking turn as Scott Cam announced to the stunned contestants that Kylie and Brad had left the show, bringing their journey to a sudden end.

Just one day after Kylie's emotional on-camera meltdown, Scott broke the news: "It's a really disappointing situation that we've found ourselves in. The competition now is between four houses only. Kylie and Brad are not returning," Cam said.

Their departure hit hard, especially as the team stands to lose out on the week's prize of $50,000 off their property's reserve at auction.

The mood among the remaining contestants was sombre, with Ricky voicing his heartbreak over losing his "best mates on The Block" in such a dramatic exit.

"To get to the very end and let that be the last thing you do on The Block? I can't help but think she's going to regret it," he said.

Mimi, at the centre of the flirting controversy that drove a wedge between Kylie and Brad, kept her reaction brief. "What can you do? That's their decision. It's a bit disappointing," she added.

With auction day just around the corner, the atmosphere on-site was undeniably heavy.

Charlotte, reflecting on the couple's departure, admitted, "It's a shame they're missing what was meant to be the fun week after all that hard work."

It came following Kylie's controversial behaviour on Sunday night's episode, during which she slammed the judges' feedback as a "f**king joke" and repeatedly ordered Scott Cam to "wrap it up".

As the remaining contestants gear up for the final push, Kylie's words from Sunday still linger, where she told Brad, "I don't want to come back for auction. I don't want to come back and have to deal with them."

The question now remains: Will she show up at auction day to face the judges one last time?

The OnlyFans conversation between Brad and Mimi.

The Block faced a new level of drama when two married contestants were caught in a 'scandal' of sorts.

Brad was flirting with fellow contestant Mimi one evening, telling his co-star that he would watch her on OnlyFans if she made an account.

In a new extended clip, Mimi was first heard asking Brad, "When are you going to finish? I want to hang out."

Brad replied, "Yeah, we'll hang out. Go get the wine and some cups. Let's do this."

As well as admitting he would "follow her OnlyFans," Brad shared another seemingly flirty exchange with Mimi later on in the night.

"Brad, if I jumped up would you be able to catch me or am I too heavy?" Mimi asked her fellow reality star.

"No, I'd catch you," he replied.

As we've all seen by now, Kylie was furious over the conversation and made an abrupt exit from Phillip Island.

"I said some pretty inappropriate comments. I was flirting with Mimi … Kylie overheard them, and understandably she's quite upset," Brad told producers of the events.

When asked what happened that night, Kylie simply told producers, "Things that made me very unhappy."

Kylie later returned to The Block, to provide her husband with an ultimatum.

"If I gave up, we'd leave with nothing. So, whatever we get, even if it's $10k, I'm taking f**king half of what you get and I'm leaving your arse," she told him. "You can keep the house and I'm f**king off. I don't even know if I'm staying in Cairns to be honest; there's nothing there for me anymore," she said.

"Do you understand what was said and what I heard? Do you even know what you spoke about?" she asked Brad. She added that on the night in question, Brad and Mimi had also disappeared together for a long time.

"In my mind, I feel like something happened but my biggest concern is I had already voiced my concerns to you about her and how she feels about you and you've just completely gone with it and completely annihilated our entire relationship," she said.

Brad said of the drama, "I'd very much say that I've just single-handedly destroyed my family."

Meanwhile, Mimi and her husband, Kristian, said they were still going strong and didn't have any issues with the conversation.

"We were just hanging out, drinking, and we were just chatting and then Kylie went to sleep on the deck next to us," Mimi said.

"I just stayed chatting and maybe there were some comments that were made that came across as flirty."

Kristian added, "I don't think Mimi should have any regrets about going out and having a good time."

As the drama continued to unfold, it led to Kylie storming off the set once more on Sunday night's episode. Read more about the scandal here.

Maddy & Charlotte vs Kylie (round… infinity).

There's been no shortage of drama between Kylie and sisters Maddy and Charlotte.

The girls took over the renovation of House 1 following the dramatic exit of Jesse and Paige mid-way through the competition. Since they joined, the other teams have inexplicably turned on the girls — who are much younger.

The other contestants complained that the girls were 'hiding' information about their building skillset, as they both had experience in flipping houses.

When they first joined, Kylie asked what the sisters did for work and the girls said they worked in finance and accounting, which is factually true (that is their profession). When asked about flipping houses, they immediately answered truthfully to Mimi. Who… didn't pass that information on.

The teams conducted a witch hunt of sorts to "expose" the "lie" the girls had told — complaining they had an advantage.

"Literally makes no sense that every single team has experience renovating AND have a tradesperson on their team yet somehow these girls are at an 'unfair advantage'???" one fan pointed out.

The drama hasn't died out, however. It's only gotten worse.

In a recent episode of The Block, the contestants were shown their first glimpse of the on-screen action with a viewing party. Kylie opted out of the event, leaving the rest of the teams behind to take in some of the more awkward scenes where everyone spoke poorly of the sisters.

After watching, Maddy said "I understand we're on a reality TV show, this is what we signed up for. You just don't expect maybe that you would be the reason a group of eight adults come together and tear you apart."

Ricky brought the screening up at dinner the following night, putting the girls on the spot as he asked if they would've done anything differently if they had their time over.

Given this was their first glimpse into how the other teammates spoke behind their backs, the girls wanted to take the opportunity to address claims they had "lied" about their experience.

As has been pointed out by many viewers, the girls said, "I'm not sure I regret it because you never took the time to get to know us. You never took the time to ask us questions. So, I don't know what there is to regret."

As the girls continued the conversation at the dinner table — and I'll point out, again, because they were being questioned — Kylie left the table and walked out of the room.

"Conversation kept going around in circles. It wasn't going anywhere and I couldn't deal with it anymore, so I left," Kylie told cameras. She added that walking out was the "mature stance" to take.

"I don't need to deal with f***ing liars anymore," she added. "I'm not going to sit there and have them lie to my face."

"I felt so sad we couldn't have a reasonable, adult conversation about it," Charlotte said following the dramatic exit.

Maddy and Charlotte hit back at other contestants.

As mentioned, Kylie has been the most vocal against Maddy and Charlotte. Viewers have questioned why Kylie has seemed unwelcoming to the newcomers.

"Charlotte and Maddy are babies, they're little itty bitty babies," Kylie remarked in one scene. Her partner Brad made the oh-so-clever joke of saying "Who?" in response.

"It's just a circle that they're not in and I'm too old and too tired to try," Kylie said about why she wasn't being friendly to the girls.

The obvious divide has drawn criticism from viewers, with most across social media banding behind Maddy and Charlotte as calls grow for Scott Cam to "step in."

"Is Scotty going to call this out though? This behaviour is intimidating and bullying," one fan wrote on Twitter, after Sunday night's episode showed Kylie refusing to clap for Maddy and Charlotte's win.

Overall, fans just want the behaviour to be called out on the show.

"When is someone from The Block going to have a talk to the other contestants [about their] behaviour in regards to how they treat the girls. It's getting ridiculous," one fan wrote on Instagram.

"Just despicable behaviour towards the girls. Imagine if they were her children being bullied that way?" added another.

"I can't believe most of the contestants this season are in their 30s yet acting they're in high school excluding the girls," wrote one.

For their part, Maddy and Charlotte are baffled by the behaviour of their co-stars.

Maddy has told Yahoo Lifestyle she's found watching the episodes to be "triggering."

"These people are being cruel to us and I don't really understand why," she said, admitting she struggled to watch the show on Sunday night.

"We strive to be kind to people in every circumstance, and then to have someone who's just blatantly choosing to be unsupportive and unkind, it's just not a nice feeling at all. We didn't do anything to them to deserve that behaviour."

She continued, "They're going out of their way to stir the pot and be rude. It's gang mentality. It's bullying and it's not kind."

Mamamia has reached out to Nine about the calls for 'bullying' to be addressed by The Block.

Jesse and Paige quit The Block.

Teased from day one, by none other than The Block executive producer Julian Cress, fans knew a "dramatic" exit was coming. And in the very first episode, it was hinted that it would be Jesse and Paige.

"We went into [the season] with five great teams, a really interesting bunch of people. But although we were renovating a holiday park, The Block certainly didn't turn out to be a holiday for everybody," Cress told TV Tonight.

RELATED: Danny Wallis has spent over $40 million on The Block houses. This is what he does with them.

"We have a team, deciding to depart the show, a fair way in to the renovation, and then have another team have to come in and take over that build when quite a few rooms had already been revealed. That's never happened before."

In September, it was revealed Paige Beechey and Jesse Maguire would be the ones to quit. Since then, it seems they've faced some more personal woes as they recover from all the chaos and drama.

Jesse and Paige postpone their wedding.

Jesse and Paige, The Block's most talked-about couple, have officially called off their wedding just weeks after their explosive exit from the show.

The controversial duo, who quickly became this season's "villains" due to their on-air meltdowns, sent shockwaves through their social circles this week. According to Yahoo Lifestyle, the pair sent a message to their guests announcing that their highly anticipated December 12 wedding was being postponed.

"Dear friends and family, life, in its unpredictable course, has presented us with unforeseen circumstances that has led us to postpone our upcoming wedding on 12 December," the message read.

"While we were eagerly looking forward to celebrating our love and commitment with you all, we believe it is essential to acknowledge when a moment is not right. This year, it is not."

"We extend our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience and disappointment this news may bring. A new date for our celebration is unknown at this time, but we will keep you abreast of any rescheduling."

Despite their decision, it seems Paige and Jesse remain a happy couple, with an insider revealing to the publication that their tumultuous reality TV journey has brought them "closer" than before.

That is despite scenes of the show depicting the two in large arguments, with Paige telling Jesse at one point, "There is no us."

"It seems like a relationship that's getting pretty bad. Your neighbours can hear you too, you know?" executive producer Justin Sturzaker told Paige during one of their spats, offering the couple counselling.

"You don't have to voice all of your stuff just to Jesse. We need to get some other people in to talk to you, where you guys need to make a big decision."

A cheating scandal for Kristian and Mimi.

They are fan favourites, but Kristian and Mimi were accused of cheating when they forged signatures on The Block. And not just any old signatures.

In an effort to speed up their build, Kristian forged both Foreman Dan and Project Manager Kylie's signatures on the permit allowing their builders to start demolishing a space for their bedroom.

"I know it was wrong," Kristian said. "It was just literally the heat of the moment, we were literally about to drive to our appointment, there was so much going on."

Mimi assured Foreman Dan she had no idea.

"If I knew, I would've shut that down straight away. That doesn't sit right with me at all," she said, before calling her husband chidlish. "I'm not gonna defend Kristian no matter what he does. If it's wrong it's wrong, and that just did not sit right with me at all."

Ricky Recard allegedly broke up with his girlfriend for a makeup artist on The Block.

The ex-girlfriend of Ricky Recard — who is competing on The Block with his best friend Haydn Wise — claims he broke up with her the night before they were set to go on a trip to Mexico for her birthday.

Shortly after, he allegedly revealed that he was dating makeup artist and mother-of-two Erin Lee (the pair are pictured together at the top of the article).

"I was absolutely blindsided," Lauren Smith told the Daily Mail. "I spent three months looking after his dogs and his house while also helping his employee with the business. We were due to go at the beginning of July for my 30th birthday but we broke up about two weeks after he got back from filming.

"I found out while I was in Mexico that he had apparently begun a relationship with Erin during the time I was away," she continued.

Ricky has responded to the dramatic reveal, on the Fifi, Fev & Nick radio show.

"Now, Ricky, you little love rat. Your ex has come out, Lozza, and she's labelled you a love rat. What's happened man? You've hooked up with a 40-year-old Mum or something?" Brendan Fevola asked.

RELATED: Everything we know about Ricky Recard's new romance.

Ricky somewhat evaded the questions surrounding the timeline of his relationship and chose not to speak about his ex, beyond confirming he had seen what she said.

"I was pretty shocked. I'm shocked when anyone goes to the media about that sort of stuff, that's not really my style. I don't have anything bad to say about her," he told the hosts.

"I was lucky enough to meet Erin (current girlfriend) just before filming started on The Block, on one of the launching days we had down there (in Phillip Island)."

When asked about how they fell in love, Ricky said, "I'm not sure what she fell in love with to be honest with you. The Block is apparently good for a couple of things, it's not only building dream houses for potential families but also a love story there as well. We’re very happy."

The Block relocated following complaints.

This surprising new format means that The Block isn't just going rural — it's going resort-style. Well, now it is, after a whole lot of drama.

According to reports, the new season was meant to be filmed in Daylesford, a little country town in Victoria. But following complaints from the locals and permit issues the series had to relocate to Phillip Island, where Channel Nine bought a HOLIDAY RESORT.

The snazzy little plot of land called the Island Cove Villas was bought out by Channel Nine for $9.5 million.

It's thought to be an oasis — a home away from home. But it's a huge parcel of land, and it looks like these five homes will be giving luxurious vibes.

"[The resort] allowed us to do something that we’ve never done before, which is always on our agenda, and that is to create five holiday houses in a gated community, and also renovate a tennis court, a swimming pool and a gigantic clubhouse, which will be seen in the climax of the series. It’s one of the most interesting things we’ve ever done on the show," Cress told TV Tonight.

The median price for a four-bedroom home in Cowes on Phillip Island is $805,000, according to Domain. If these new homes hit classic Block prices, the contestants may be in for a tough time on auction day.

Fan-favourites make their return.

As all fans of The Block would know, the series has a habit of bringing back former contestants to give advice and help the newer teams throughout the show.

This year, Yahoo Lifestyle reports the new season will see several veteran cast members returning for a special episode where they will form different teams to help the current Blockheads with a secret project.

Steph and Gian (2023), Kyal and Kara (2014), Omar and Oz (2022), and Andy and Deb (2019) are among those returning for the special episode.

But according to their source, Nine is using the episode to test audience interest in these returning stars to decide if they should do an "All Stars" season in 2025.

"Executives are dipping their toes in the water," the source told the publication. "It's not like The Block hasn't brought back previous contestants before, but Channel Nine is still unsure if audiences care to see returning renovators.

"However, if the one-off episode featured toward the end of the upcoming series is well received, then the public casting call will be scrapped by the casting team at Lucky Break Creative."
