It's been a challenging week for the contestants on The Block Tree Change.

As this week was all about the all-important master bedrooms, some of the contestants were forced to undergo all-nighters to complete their spaces.

To add to the drama, Ankur and Sharon were called out by Scott Cam and the other Blockheads for googling tasting notes for a wine they were tasked to recreate. Rachel and Ryan were particularly annoyed.

While it isn't necessarily against Block rules, which Scotty confirmed, it didn't help the pair's case when they insisted that nailing the challenge came down to skill rather than... a lot of help from trusty ol' Google.

Omar and Oz also got into a bit of trouble this week after a mystery fireplace suddenly appeared in their master bedroom. As you could probably guess, Foreman Dan was furious and ordered it to be removed.

Tom and Sarah-Jane.

Money spent: $26,127

Upon entering Tom and Sarah Jane's master bedder, the judges were thoroughly impressed with the real wood-burning fireplace.

"How much does it hug you as soon as you walk in," Shaynna said. "It's cosy even though it's got such a high vast ceiling and a king-sized bed. "There's just so much to appreciate."

Neale was at a loss for words. Eventually, he was able to muster out: "I love it. It's so beautifully done. I feel that Tom and Sarah-Jane are really nailing this aesthetic that we're calling new rural."

He went on to note that while the pair's fireplace is "not overly modern", the combination of elements "makes it feel modern".

As for what the judges would change? Well, not much.

"I just love where they're going with all this," Neale said.

Darren, upon walking into the master wardrobe, added: "Styling a walk-in robe is not easy and it's not sexy, but they've done it well."

One minor critique came from Shaynna who noted that not having doors on the wardrobes will mean that styling has to be "perfect" every single day - which might be a deterrent for potential buyers.

However, her final words on the room were: "This [home] is going to pull at the heartstrings of potential buyers".

Rachel and Ryan.

Money spent: $21,235.

At first glance, the judges were instantly drawn to House Two's stacked stone fireplace.

"It is beautiful," noted Shaynna.

While last week, the pair received critiques for having a "cold" room, this week they were praised for the "warmth" of their space.

"This room has got a beautiful sense of calm about it," Neale said. "They've redeemed themselves this week."

Shaynna, who loved the carpet, rug and the colours of the panelling, praised for their design choices.

However, Neale thought the rug under the bed was not large enough and didn't love the dried flowers in the master bedroom.

"It's a room that works for me despite itself," said Neale. "What I mean by that is when I look around, there are some things that don't work."

Despite this, the judge noted the room felt "lovely".

Darren said the colour palette made the space feel country "without having to have the green from outside, inside. Every element in here [gets] two thumbs up."

The judges loved the walk-in wardrobe as well, noting it had been styled really well.

Despite the minor critiques, the trio were massive fans of the space.

"It's got me by the heartstrings," said Darren.

Ankur and Sharon.

Money spent: $35,649.

Next up were Ankur and Sharon who received a "wow" from Neale instantly.

While the judges felt the room was A LOT, they loved it.

"Congratulations to Ankur and Sharon for giving us something we've never seen before," said Neale, who loved the antique furniture. "This is extraordinary."

"There's a lot of opulence here," thought Shaynna. "The grandeur and the scale of the room, the furniture, the ceiling height, the details... It's absolutely elegance personified."

The judge also felt it was "incredible" that the pair were able to channel a "Marie Antoinette" type of luxury.

Despite this though, Shaynna did think the choice of lighting was wrong, labelling it as "basically a deco reference".

She also felt the pair might run out of money soon with all the "statements" in their rooms.

"I'm not telling them to stop being theatrical because I think it works but you don't have to overspend all the time," she said.

Darren loved the walk-in wardrobe, along with the rest of the judges.

"It's just so beautifully balanced," he said. "We're a third of the way through and Ankur and Sharon's painting gets better each week."

The pair's biggest critique was that they need to "work harder" on their paint jobs.

Dylan and Jenny.

Money spent: $30,358.

The judges were instantly impressed upon seeing Dylan and Jenny's space, praising the walk-in wardrobe.

"It says luxury and it just plays so beautifully to this space," Neale said of the chandelier.

Shaynna loved the excessive storage and styling, noting it "puts the cherry on top."

Darren wasn't so sure if he loved walking straight into the walk-in robe but soon found that it worked.

"Having that entrance... That's actually really impressive," he said.

Neale felt the couple nailed the country aesthetic brief, but noted the seat and window furnishings on the bay window seat could have been "executed better".

The judges were thoroughly impressed with the bedroom but didn't feel it lived up to their "brilliant" guest bedroom that was presented two weeks ago.

"There are little things that feel like they're undercooked or under-prepared," noted Darren, who felt adding a rug to the space would have added another layer.

Omar and Oz.

Money spent: $20,048.

This week was not a great one for Omar and Oz, who disappointed the judges when they walked into the space.

"I find the whole thing very visually overwhelming," thought Neale. "It's too much. My eye doesn't really know where to land."

He added that he was not impressed with the study and reading nook.

"It seems odd to me," he said.

Shaynna agreed, adding it should be "grand" but it felt "cluttered." She felt making the space a day bed instead would be "incredible".

The judges also felt not having a king-sized bed was a mistake.

Neale thought too much space was given to their reading nook.

"This wasn't what I was expecting," he said. "This to me is not the master bedroom that [the master ensuite] deserved... There's too much going on."

Despite the obvious critiques, Darren felt there were wonderful elements to the room.

Upon seeing the walk-in wardrobe, the boys were advised to remove the ottoman.

"There are several good choices here... but then you come back to the allocation of space," noted Darren.

After the judges' scores were tallied, it was revealed Tom and Sarah-Jane took out the win. They were also the first pair to get a perfect score of 10.

Next week the pairs are being tasked with completing a guest bedroom and an ensuite.
