The Bachelor's Richie and Alex have shared the first glimpse into their life as a couple.

Over the past week, we’ve all invested way too much time and brainpower wondering who this year’s Bachelor, Richie Strahan, would choose to be his leading lady.

Of course, we had our suspicions, and many a spoiler-alert has done the rounds, but thanks to tonight’s finale we now know Richie handed the final red rose to Alex Nation.

So, what a better way to celebrate than to post their first video as a post-Bachelor couple? Because nothing says legitimacy in your relationship than a video together on Instagram.

It was a tumultuous episode for all involved, with both Nikki and Alex questioning their place in Richie’s heart and his life.

But in the end, it was Alex, the 24-year-old single mum from Victoria, who stole Richie’s heart. Now, the duo has posted a message for their viewers via The Bachelor‘s Facebook page.

“It’s been an asbolutely wild ride, and I’ve met the most remarkable woman who makes me so happy on a daily basis,” Richie told his fans.

“We are so excited to start our next chapter together, and we cannot thank you enough for your continuous love and support,” Alex chimed in.

“I don’t think there is any reason to rush into something like that. Even though the show has finished and ended, that relationship would only be starting out in the ‘real world’,” she said.

“There’s definitely no rush to introduce them. It’s about us being together and laying those foundations first.”

Despite this, Alex did admit her son was a little cleverer than she initially given him credit for.

“Five-year-olds are smarter than you think. He has asked me, ‘Mummy, are you Richie’s girlfriend?’ and whether I love Richie and questions like that,” she said.

“He’s seen me on dates with him [on the show] but he doesn’t seen me kiss me, and he’s never seen any of the other girls do anything.”
