1. It turns out The Bachelor Australia will have an all new format this year.

This year’s season of The Bachelor is almost upon us, premiering on Wednesday night with astrophysicist Matt Agnew.

The 28 Bachelorettes who will vie for the 31-year-old’s heart have been released (along with their Instagram handles, of course) and we have our roses ready.

However it has been revealed there will be something different about this year.

A TV guide for Wednesday night’s episode reveals the Bachelor will be introduced to 20 Bachelorettes on the first night. Then on Thursday night, the description explains, a further eight women arrive to win over Agnew’s heart.

Oh. And the TV guide states that the original women are “not willing to take the news lying down”. Which sounds like DRAMA.

The new format is a world first, with the intruders coming in earlier than ever before. There are also more intruders than normal, with three or four in previous seasons.

We. Cannot. Wait.

2. MAFS‘ Jessika Power just shared the results from her $16,000 breast enhancement.

Married At First Sight star Jessika Power has shared the results of her breast enhancement surgery with her 215,000 Instagram followers.

Power shared the before and after pictures, going from a B to a D cup, with her chest covered in a number of bruises post surgery.

Power has previously spoken to Mamamia about her decision to undergo surgery, and revealed she has spent about $50,000 altering her appearance since MAFS.

She’s also had teeth veneers, lip filler, cheek filler and a brow lift done.

Jessika explained that she’s still – months after MAFS concluded – confused as to why so many people have an opinion on what she looks like, but she’s never let it get her down.

“Oh my god people care, they want to know when the next procedure is, what the procedure was, what eye cream am I wearing?” she said.

“I find it so strange. I don’t think my family even batted an eyelid when I had my veneers done or when I had my lips done."

She continued: "If you think I’m so ugly or so plastic, then why are you talking about it or commenting about it? If I thought that about someone I wouldn’t pay them any attention."

3. "Work really dried up." After his time on The Bachelorette, Apollo Jackson was left broke.

Former reality TV star Apollo Jackson has opened up about his struggle to find work since leaving Sophie Monk’s season of The Bachelorette.

The 26-year-old became emotional on Sunday night as he discussed his return to TV in the premiere of Australia’s Got Talent.

“After the Bachelorette, work really dried up super quickly. I’ve had to do whatever I can to pay the bills," he said.

He hopes that his debut as a magician on AGT will mean his profession is no longer seen “as a gimmick.”

“There are times it gets really hard and you feel like giving up. My phone’s cut off, I’m living at home, I’m super broke.”

His act featured an attempt to escape from being suspended upside-down, above a bed of flaming spikes.

Before his death-defying act, he admitted: “I am willing to risk my life for this.”

Judges watched on horrified as he was dropped on to the spikes and set alight.

Despite suffering a few minor injuries, Apollo secured his place in the next round of the competition.

4. In peak influencer fashion, Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau just live streamed their wedding... for $50.

Well then.

The couple, who became engaged just one month ago, offered a pay-per-view screening of their wedding... for $49.99.

According to fans who paid to watch the ceremony, however, the live stream began four hours late and lasted just 10 minutes.

It's also believed a fight broke out at the wedding, with one guest throwing an entire glass of champagne at the couple while they were at the altar. Yikes.

Although the wedding has been highly publicised, there's still public doubts over whether the couple's relationship really is legitimate.

5. YASS: Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness is bringing his stand-up world tour to Australia.

Can you BELIEVE?

In quite possibly the best news we've read all day, Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness is officially bringing his stand-up world tour to Australia next year.

Um, YASS QUEEN.

Jonathan's live comedy show, which is titled 'Jonathan Van Ness: Road To Beijing', follows the 32-year-old's dream to skate at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

6. In December, SeaChange's Tom Long was told he had just months to live. Now he's in remission.

In April, SeaChange actor Tom Long boarded a plane to the US in a last-ditch attempt to save his life. It worked.

In 2012, the actor was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, an incurable form of blood cancer that attacks the immune system. For seven years, he’d gone through chemotherapy, stem cell transplants and various drug trials, but nothing worked.

After being given just three months to live, Long, 50, was given one last chance at survival.

Long flew to Seattle to participate as one of 18 patients in a medical trial to rebuild his immune system using Car T Cell therapy. His T cells were genetically re-engineered before being infused back into this body to kill the cancer cells.

Speaking to Lisa Wilkinson on The Sunday Project, Long said the trial was like going through a “complete exorcism”.

He was sweating, vomiting and full of a fever for three days. He then spent time in and out of hospital with infections, but in late June Long received a call that changed everything.

“We were having coffee at our favourite coffee place and I got a phone call from Dr Damien Green who was heading the trial in Seattle, and he just said that I had nothing in the bone marrow.”
