1. Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, $26

You’d be hard pressed to find a beauty expert who didn’t have a tube of this lurking at the bottom of her handbag. Created in 1930, the original 8 hour cream continues to be the brand’s best seller – and one sells a casual every 30 seconds.

It’s a great multi-tasking product for all your skin woes from chapped lips and dry hands to rough heels.

Now this is mindblowing - seven tubes of Maybelline Baby Lips balm reportedly sell every 15 seconds. That's a lot of soothed lips out there.

5. Napoleon Perdis Autopilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer, $59

Say hello to one of the original primers. Launched in 2003, this has remained a top seller for the brand, with one selling every four minutes.

Once you've used it, it's clear to see why. The primer offers a smooth base for face makeup without the sticky feel of silicone and is the subject of founder Napoleon Perdis' catchphrase "Not to prime is a crime!" You heard the man.

6. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Foundation, $50

If you're looking for high coverage long lasting foundation, it doesn't get much better than this. The long-wearing makeup range launched in 1997 and nearly 20 years later is still Australian's favourite foundation from the brand.
