This teenager took a selfie. She then noticed something very creepy in the background.

When Jessica Ogletree’s family went on a fishing trip, her 13-year-old daughter Haley decided to do what most teenagers do when they’re in the possession of a phone and in the company of others.

She took a selfie.

But when she went to take another look at it, she noticed something strange.

In the background of the image you can see a man hunched over in a green shirt. That’s Haley’s brother, Kolton. But to the right of him, another man can be seen.

This man was not there when the photo was taken.

NO. Image via Facebook.

In a Facebook post that has since gone viral, Jessica wrote, "this gentleman was NOT with them today and there was no one else at these back ponds where they were fishing!"

"The only people there today were Haley, Kolton, and their grandparents Dennis and Vera."

"Haley was going back through her pictures and saw this and needless to say freaked out and called me," explained the mum.

Of course, thousands of people quickly attempted to determine whether the teenager had really captured a ghost on camera.

One woman altered the image and came to the conclusion, "he's there. And he's translucent. Great catch!" while several others suggested it was photoshopped.

Another woman shared a photo of a boy who is missing in Georgia (the state where the photo was taken), insinuating that the boy in the photo looks remarkably similar to the boy who is missing.

Others think it could be an app on the teenager's phone, or just a weird formation of the trees, or a reflection of a person standing close by.

Ultimately, Jessica wasn't too disturbed by the occurrence, and wrote, "I personally think it's pretty cool because today is Kolton's birthday and he caught the biggest fish he's ever caught!"

"It looks like the man is happy for him!"

Do you think the photo is real?
