A mother warned her babysitter not to smoke around her kids. Then it backfired.

When Sarah Holder, a high school student in Kansas, was sent a text message from her neighbour Amy, she was very confused.

Amy’s husband Randy had supposedly spotted Sarah smoking a cigar, and since Sarah was a babysitter for their children, the mother was a little concerned.

“Please keep your habits private from the kids,” Amy wrote.

“He noticed you drive past smoking a cigar of some sort…a lot of children live on the street.”

Now the text is going viral for one very hilarious reason: Sarah was just eating a taquito.

“My whole neighbourhood gossiping about my ‘smoking habit’…” Sarah wrote in a post that has been retweeted over 60,000 times.

Sarah replied to Amy with a picture of the food in question, telling her there were “no bad habits here”.

Amy is yet to respond to the embarrassing mishap.

“She hasn’t responded, I’m assuming out of embarrassment,” Sarah told BuzzFeed News.

“I feel bad because in my opinion [my neighbour] is crazy nice and I get where she’s coming from,” she said.

Sarah's tweet has been re-tweeted more than 60,000 times. Image via Twitter.

Most people thought the exchange was just as hilarious as Sarah did.

"Sarah, you are my hero. I don't know why, and I don't know how...but you've changed my life with this," one Twitter user (who we assume is now Sarah's biggest fan) replied.

"I can't believe you got Twitter famous off a taquito and some nosy neighbours!" wrote another.

We didn't think anything could be more enjoyable than eating a mini taco but...we were just proved wrong.
