Olivia Yassine-Naja watched her 13-year-old son Jalal as he left their home to ride his skateboard to his school, Staughton College in Melton, just past 8am yesterday.
She was inside with her younger children when there was a knock on the door, and she was told that her son had been hit by a car.
“I ran out. I just couldn’t feel anything – I was numb,” the mother of four told the Herald Sun.

“And there he was, lying on the road. I didn’t know what to feel. I’m numb, I’m screaming. I’m fine; then I’m not fine,” she said.
