Are you ready for it? Everything we know about Reputation (Taylor's Version).

Taylor Swift's long-awaited album Reputation (Taylor's Version) may finally be announced during her last performance on The Eras Tour.

After 152 shows, Swift is wrapping up her whirlwind tour in Vancouver on December 8. And fans have one (or two) theories on why the re-recording will be announced. Chief amongst them, the singer has been 'counting down' to something important during her shows — and fans are convinced it will be Rep (TV) or her lost album, Karma.

We won't know for sure until Taylor herself hits the stage for the final show of The Eras Tour. But here's everything we do know about the album on everyone's lips.

When is the Reputation (Taylor's Version) release date?

This is still to be confirmed, as Taylor has not yet announced this re-record. She has followed a pattern of releasing the re-records every six months, but in 2024 she dropped an entirely new album called The Tortured Poets' Department instead.

However, thanks to a series of cryptic clues, fans are convinced it's next on the list.

Is there a Taylor's Version of Reputation?

There is almost certainly already an existing Taylor's Version of Reputation. Between The Eras Tour concert dates, Taylor has been seen dropping into her recording studio, Electric Lady Studios in New York, on several occasions.

Much like her other re-records, Reputation (Taylor's Version) will likely feature some never-before-heard vault tracks and collabs with artists.

Given Taylor's social standing and fame has reached unimaginable new heights in the six years since Reputation was released, it's possible the re-recording will reach new listeners and achieve even greater charting success.

Both the re-recorded albums and The Eras Tour have made hits out of some of Swift's lesser-known tunes in the past few years. Songs like Cruel Summer had major streaming success once newer fans got on board with the set-list.

Why did Taylor Swift record Reputation?

Reputation was Swift's sixth studio album and, perhaps, one of her most important.

The album was created in response to her 'cancellation' in 2016 and documented her fall from grace in the public eye, her splits from both Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston, her ongoing feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, and her new romance with Joe Alwyn.

At the time of Reputation's release in December 2017, Taylor had withdrawn from public life for several months.

"No one physically saw me for a year. And that was what I thought they wanted," she said in the documentary Miss Americana, which detailed her life following the release of Reputation.

"It just gets loud sometimes," a tearful Taylor said in the doco. "When people decided I was wicked and evil and conniving and not a good person… that was the one I couldn't really bounce back from. My whole life was centred around [what people thought]."

"The hashtag 'Taylor Swift Is Over Party' was trending worldwide. Do you know how many people have to be tweeting that they hate you for that to happen? I just wanted to disappear."

Fortunately for Swifties, Taylor returned with a new album and a new attitude: she wasn't going to be doing press or subjecting herself to endless rounds of interviews. She was here to drop music and head off on a worldwide tour.

Beginning in May 2018, and wrapping up in November, the Reputation Stadium Tour broke multiple venue attendance and grossing records. In particular, she broke her own record for the highest-grossing North American tour by a female artist. She went on to break The Rolling Stones' record, to become the highest-grossing tour in US and North American history, grossing $266.1 million.

In 2023 and 2024, she has once again surpassed herself with The Eras Tour.
