Tammy Hembrow confirmed her divorce in a raw, vulnerable and public way. She just explained why.

It's been two months since Tammy Hembrow confirmed her divorce from Matt Zukowski. Now, the 31-year-old has shared a raw video about the heartbreak and healing she has gone through.

In the footage, which was posted to Instagram on Saturday, Hembrow is at her most vulnerable, crying in her bathroom, in her car, on her floor. In some clips, her hands are even shaking as she sobs. Accompanying the video is the text: "It felt like the happiness would never end."

Slowly, the clips morphed into moments of hope, with Hembrow working out, dancing with her friends and kids, exploring nature, and watching a sunset.

Then text changed to: "But then I noticed the light creeping back in."

The influencer also shared a lengthy statement about what prompted her to share the raw footage.

"I made this so long ago and honestly never thought I'd share it," Hembrow wrote. "Watching it back makes me genuinely feel ill. But with everything happening right now if there was ever a time to share it … it's now."

Hembrow explained that she posted the video "for the person who feels like they're drowning the way I once did".

"The person who can't see a way forward. I want you to know, it does get better. I PROMISE you."

She went on to say that "some traumas shake you so deeply, they change the way you see literally everything. The world, the people around you … and even yourself. But little by little, the light comes back."

Hembrow finished her statement by reminding followers that "no one else knows your whole story."

"No one has felt what you've felt, seen what you've seen, or carried what you've carried. This is your life, your journey… but you are not alone in it.

"One day you'll look back and realise you survived what you thought would break you 💛."

Later, on her Instagram stories, the influencer clarified that she doesn't make a habit of filming herself "mid breakdown" and that she never wants "to look at any of those videos ever again."

The influencer clarified why she shared the videos in an Instagram story. Instagram/@tammyhembrow.

"I just know that when I was going through it, videos like that really helped me so much so if I can do that for one person that's all I want."

The video comes three days after Hembrow responded to backlash over sharing a lunch date with AFL player Bailey Smith, 24.

When some followers criticised the influencer for, what they deemed, "moving on too quickly" after her breakup, the 31-year-old shared a TikTok mouthing the words "Don't be f***ing boring. This whole town is so f***ing boring. I don't care," from a Barbie movie.

Hembrow confirmed her divorce from Zukowski in June 2025 following months of speculation from internet sleuths and fans alike.

She married the former Love Islander in November 2024 after a whirlwind romance.

The couple got engaged in the Maldives in November 2023, after dating long-distance for just eight weeks.

Despite exchanging matching tattoos and loved-up vows in a Byron Bay ceremony just nine months ago, Zukowski had been MIA on Hembrow's social media for months.

"I wanted to finally tell you guys that I am going to be getting a divorce," Hembrow said in a tearful and heartfelt TikTok video.

"I don't want to get into details, and I'm not one to try and bring anyone down. I just want to be sensitive to everyone involved," she continued.

"Did I think this was going to happen? No. Did I want this? No. Obviously, when you marry someone, you do it thinking that it's going to be forever."

When it came to the relationship ending, Hembrow took accountability for her own choices when it came to her romantic partners.

"I blame no one but myself to be honest," she said. "I feel like I've made not the best choices when it comes to relationships and I feel like I am really good at putting on rose-coloured glasses."

Following an onslaught of hate comments leading up to the divorce announcement, Hembrow claimed that they had little affect on her — given her own negative feelings about her current situation.

"Nothing anyone can say can make me feel like more s*** than I already do. More humiliated. I already think that about myself right now," she added.

She finished the video by acknowledging that the split was "what need[ed] to happen."

"At the end of the day, I know this is what needs to happen. There's no other option."

Earlier that month, Hembrow broke down on her Instagram Story in front of her 17 million Instagram followers, and many saw it as a divorce soft launch.

Choking back tears, Hembrow thanked her followers for their support and said, "I've just been dealing with some heavy stuff and I feel like people can tell. Like, I definitely don't like to, like, pretend I'm okay when I'm not. And I feel like I have been trying to do that for a little while because, you know, I have so much that I have to focus on, but I just feel like it's doing me more harm than good."

Hembrow went on to say that she doesn't like talking about her struggles when she's in the midst of them because it's overwhelming and adds pressure. The 31-year-old conceded that she would talk to her audience about what was going on at some point, but not then.

Unfortunately for Hembrow, public breakups are familiar territory. Her engagement to Zukowski was the third her audience has parasocially celebrated with her.

Listen: Tammy's built an empire — and her brand is a big part of it. We spoke to her about how she does it on Mamamia's No Filter podcast. Post continues below.

First, there was Reece Hawkins. At 19, the couple fell pregnant with their first child, Wolf, after dating for a month. 18 months later, they welcomed their second child, Saskia. That same year, they got engaged and broke up.

Then there was Matt Poole. The couple met in Bali just before the pandemic hit. They dated for a year before Poole got down on one knee. Two weeks later, they announced they were expecting their first child together, but broke up before she was born.

Then came Zukowski. But, as Hembrow mentioned, they'd seen it coming — with fans speculating an announcement was imminent as they collected clues.

The biggest clue was the couple's location. They'd both made it clear via their Instagram Stories that they were living in separate states.

While Hembrow remained on the Gold Coast, Zukowski confirmed on his podcast that he had returned home to Melbourne to work at his father's pool company.

The couple not only celebrated Easter in their respective home states, but Zukowski was nowhere to be seen on Hembrow's 31st birthday.

The fitness influencer made no effort to hide her husband's absence, as she publicly thanked her female friends for spoiling her. Hembrow shared a photo of flowers on her Instagram Story and wrote, "Grateful for the girlies in my life making me feel so special today. Thank you for all of the birthday love."

It was later made known that Zukowski instead celebrated his podcast co-host Anna McEvoy's birthday at the Conservatory Crown in Melbourne. Awkwardly, McEvoy's birthday is the day before Hembrow's.

Two weeks later, Zukowski was again missing from his stepson Wolf's birthday celebrations.

In March, Hembrow unfollowed her husband and removed the title 'Mrs Zukowski' from her Instagram bio.

It was not the first time the influencers had unfollowed each other. Leading up to their wedding, it happened countless times.

While Hembrow did eventually refollow Zukowski and reinstate her title as Matt's wife, her best friend and maid of honour, Isabelle Laws, wasn't as forgiving. She unfollowed the Love Islander in May.

Zukowski last appeared on Hembrow's socials on the 15th of April.

She shared a video of the couple hugging while her youngest daughter, Posey, looked on and eventually joined them with the caption, "A family where my kids see how much he loves their mum."

After that, he was nowhere to be seen.

While Hembrow kept tight-lipped on what was going on with her husband for months, she had been dropping cryptic clues via her playlist. She shared Taylor Swift's break-up song 'Getaway Car' had been on replay in her head, plus mimed along to Sabrina Carpenter's 'Manchild' on TikTok.
