Talulah Riley married Elon Musk twice. That's just the start of this wild story.

Talulah Riley is perhaps one of the most intriguing celebrities. At least, I think so.

The actress has a short filmography, but it's one that includes Pride & Prejudice, St. Trinians, The Boat That Rocked and Inception. She was a British it-girl in the 2000s thanks to her roles across UK cinema and her enviable street style.

Then, she crossed paths with Elon Musk.

The billionaire tech bro, then 37, met the actress, then 22, in a London nightclub in 2008. He was out on the town, fresh off his split from his first wife, Justine Wilson.

Talulah says she was intrigued by his "sweet" and "shy" demeanour. Okay sure, what the hell. At odds with literally everything we know about him but… yes, let's move on.

"He said, 'May I put my hand on your knee?' and I said, 'Okay, go on then' — I thought it was quite sweet that he asked. He said, 'I don't usually do this, but I'd love to see you tomorrow. Can we meet for breakfast?' So we had breakfast," she said in a BBC documentary.

"And at the end of breakfast he said, 'Would you come and have lunch with me?', so we went for lunch. And then he said, 'Would you come for dinner?'

"And then one evening, I remember he said, 'Would you like to come back to my hotel room so we can look at rocket videos?' And I thought, 'Hmm okay, I'll come back'. And we did get into his hotel room, and he did just show me rocket videos."

Ten days later, they were engaged. For the first time.

Talulah also went very publicly on-record about how she was a virgin when they met, telling The Evening Standard she was 'very shy'.

"I've never slept with anyone apart from Elon. Which is nice. I mean, which is great. After all that, to describe it as 'nice' — it's great," she told the publication in 2012.

The pair first married in 2010, before Musk petitioned for divorce two years later. She reportedly walked away from their first marriage with $16 million. But then… they rekindled their romance.

"I think we got back together at the divorce filing," she told The Times.

They remarried in 2013, with Musk filing for divorce again in 2014. He later withdrew the request seven months later.

Talulah eventually ended their marriage in 2016, and their divorce papers revealed they'd been living apart for six months.

Musk told Forbes at the time: "We took some time apart for several months to see if absence [would make] the heart grow fonder, and unfortunately it did not. I still love her, but I'm not in love with her. And I can't really give her what she wants."

But if you think her opinion of the Tesla founder and X (Twitter) owner has changed, you're wrong.

She told The Independent that she shares a "very deep love and connection" with Musk, who she also called the "perfect ex-husband".

She encouraged him to buy Twitter to "end woke-ism" — whatever that means. In fact, she has a lot of long prose to offer on the subject of social media and how her ex-husband will allegedly save it (spoiler alert: he's ruining it).

"I still love the guy," she said in a 2024 interview. He even attended her June wedding that same year.

Oh, who did she marry? The child who can't play the drums in Love Actually. Also known as Thomas Brodie-Sangster, star of The Maze Runner, The Artful Dodger and Queen's Gambit.

Talulah and Thomas tied the knot in front of friends and family at St. George's Church in England on June 22. Elon was there, after he had congratulated the couple on social media when news of their engagement broke.

The newlyweds first met on set of the Sex Pistols series nearly three years prior to their wedding. In July 2023, Thomas announced their engagement on Instagram with a sweet nod to Hugh Grant's opening monologue in Love Actually.

"Happy to announce that Talulah and I are engaged. Love is all around X."

They wed in June 2024 in the English village of Antsey in Hertfordshire.

The actress was asked which of her weddings was her fave: the one to her current husband, or one of the two with Musk. And… she did not pick.

"Um, I don't know how fair it is to rank weddings. All my weddings have been very lovely," Riley told The Times, adding that they were all "different, but equally lovable."

In a new op-ed for The Times, the actress has hit back at claims she's now living a 'trad-wife life' in the countryside with Thomas.

Riley and Sangster live together on 20 acres with four dogs, two horses, a pony, two pigs, a hive of bees, three geese, 15 chickens, countless ducks and 70 sheep.

"Happiness, for me, has wandered in slowly and seems directly proportional to the number of chickens that come tapping at the kitchen door every morning," she wrote in her new article. "I'm now in my 30s and safely home in the UK, and it's full steam ahead on the rural idyll."

"Thomas, who was born and raised within the sound of Bow bells, took to country life immediately, though he still pretends not to know the difference between a horse and a cow to liven up long car journeys. He is a carpenter and mechanic as well as an aesthete."

But she rejects the social media branding of 'trad-wife' — as mentioned previously, girlypop has lots of long rants about social media.

"We live in an era where lifestyles are commoditised online, indexed by hashtags," she wrote. "We are encouraged to 'be the brand' and exert influence, prioritising personal growth."

"So please don't call me a trad wife. I've been divorced twice — there's nothing trad about that unless you're Zsa Zsa Gabor."

I have to admit, that line is funny as hell. But my favourite part was when she called herself "privileged and unemployed" in acknowledgement of her #simplelife.

Now that's a celebrity — unrelatable to her core, living an intriguing life with a twice-divorced billionaire ex-husband, a quirky new husband, and a strikingly beautiful farm.
