There's a very long, very strict list of things you cannot take to Adele's concert.

It’s finally here. We finally get to hear the crystal-clear, soul-stirring, heartbreak-healing vocals of Adele.

Over the next two nights, 190,000 fans will flood through the gates of ANZ Stadium to see the 28-year-old Hello singer perform on the second-stop of her Australian tour.

Rumour has it – okay not rumour, just fact, but we wanted to squeeze in a lyrical pun – that there’s a rather strict list of prohibited items that may prevent concertgoers from making it beyond the turnstiles.

So leave the following at home:

  • Oversized bags, Eskies and other large objects. (For the record, that's 35cm in height, 20cm in width and 30cm in length - essentially anything that can't fit under your seat.)
  • Glass or cans
  • Alcohol or illicit drugs
  • Knives and other sharp utensils
  • Laser pointers/flashlights
  • Flares/fireworks
  • Flag poles or large banners
  • Confetti or shredded paper
  • Scooters, roller skates, skateboards or pushbikes
  • Video- or audio-recording equipment
  • Tripods/monopods
  • Selfie-sticks
  • Cameras with detachable lenses (a small personal camera is fine)
  • Go-Pro cameras
  • Any other item in the opinion of the management that could harm, injure or create a public nuisance.

So don't Take It All, okay? Because you will just end up Chasing Pavements...

Sorry.

For the record, reached out to ANZ Stadium to ask about their aversion to Go-Pros and Selfie-sticks, and they said, "The no selfie stick rule is a condition of the promoter for fan safety."

Other tips for Adele concertgoers

  • Get there early. The show starts at 7:30pm and THERE'S NO SUPPORT ACT, so don't be late.  ANZ Stadium is recommending you arrive at least an hour prior.
  • Take public transport. Special-event buses and trains will be operating and return travel is included in the cost of your ticket. Visit here to plan your trip.
  • No, seriously. Don't drive. Both car parks have been booked out.
  • Make sure you only carry a small bag, and keep in mind it will be searched.
  • If you're bringing a bottle of water, don't open it before you get to the gates. It must be sealed.
  • Wear comfortable shoes (if -  like the author - you're short, go for something with wedge or platform. Every centimetre counts in the GA section.)
  • Oh and maybe bring some insect repellent. Apparently Adele is as popular with mosquitoes as with humans.
