7 Days, 7 Outfits. Go.

I’m coming out of the closet to confess: I’m in a wardrobe rut.

It’s not that I’ve been wearing the same clothes or colours for years it’s that I’ve been wearing the same style of clothes for years.

I was hit with the big boob stick in high school and I’ve been hiding my figure in baggy, loose and unstructured clothes ever since. I’m an E cup, and in no way do I like to draw attention to that fact. So much so that at my wedding, when the occasion called for a form fitting dress, several of my friends were gobsmacked that I even had boobs, let alone big ones.

Just as an FYI, you should know that this post is sponsored by Nancy Ganz. But all opinions expressed by the author are 100% authentic and written in their own words.

This week I’m taking on the ’7 outfit in 7 days’ challenge, and I’m going to show you how you can shop your own wardrobe using shapewear to wear and feel more comfortable in the clothes you’ve got hiding in the back of your wardrobe. I know you’ve got them lurking back there, we all do!

Over the next seven days, I’m going to photograph my outfits and show you how to wear shapewear, which I’m sneakily wearing underneath; standby for some serious Blue Steel-ing.

Day 1.

Day 1: This Bec & Bridge dress is really tricky to wear: it’s semi-sheer and has a matching slip underneath, which means it’s not very forgiving when it comes to lumps and bumps, bra rolls and visible undie lines. With a bit of help from the “Suckerinerer” Nancy Ganz Underbust Jumpsuit, which is my favourite piece of shapewear, as Kanye would say, OF ALL TIME, I’m giving it a crack. The jumpsuit is slim-fitting but not restrictive so you can still breathe; it helps to smooth over lumps (hello waist!), and the fabric feels fantastic – even dare I say it sexy.

Day 2.

Day 2: You know how I said I loved the “Suckerinerer” Nancy Ganz Underbust Jumpsuit? I really meant it, and here I am wearing it again. I found the jumpsuit to be really comfortable, as the shorts don’t ride up. You can wear an existing bra with it – and best of all – the jumpsuit has a crotch opening, so you don’t have to take the whole thing off to go to the toilet. Genius.

Day 3.

Day 3: I recently cleaned out my wardrobe and noticed that shapewear is taking up and increasing amount of space in my undies drawer, and I’ve come to see it as just that, an extension of the undergarments I usually wear. There’s a shift away from shapewear being that tight, uncomfortable, needing Hugh Grant on standby to pull it off clothing to simply being amped up undergarments used for smoothing and shaping.

Today I’m wearing the “Smootheroverer” Nancy Ganz Dream Fit Cotton Slip Dress; it’s completely convertible so as you can see I’ve crossed the bra straps over the front and back to fit this cutout dress.

Day 4.

Day 4: I bought this dress online several weeks ago when the really hot weather hit Sydney but when it arrived I thought it was a bit too tight and short, but as you can see in the photo above it now fits.

I’m wearing the “Smootheroverer” Nancy Ganz Dream Fit Cotton Slip (see middle row, bottom pic), which is a long singlet style dress. As I’m up and down a lot at work, the hold meant I didn’t have to unceremoniously pull it down all day.

Day 5.

Day 5: Cutout lace is a huge trend this spring/summer but there’s the dilemma of what to wear underneath it. Contrasting colours look great, but I always think it looks best paired with a nude slip. I’m wearing the “Sliminator” Nancy Ganz Sleek Slip, which gave me enough coverage not to be arrested.

Day 6.

Day 6: Today I’ve donned an animal print skirt and loose singlet (both from Seed) for brunch and shopping with the girls. I’m wearing the “Muffinminimiser” Nancy Ganz High Waist Brief With Lace underneath my skirt to help smooth over my lady lumps and avoid a VPL.

Seriously, I could wear these undies every day; they are that comfortable. The lace edging around the bottom means you don’t get any tightness and the high waist smoothed down my stomach.

Day 7.

Day 7: All right, so I’m not wearing super tight clothing here BUT it is a Sunday after all! I’m wearing the “Muffinminimiser” Nancy Ganz High Waist Briefs again as I find even when I do wear loose clothing, shorts and skirts can sometimes dig in leaving me with a bad case of the dreaded muffin top. Not today, however.
