Strife — the TV series based on Mia Freedman's memoir Work, Strife, Balance and loosely inspired by the story of Mamamia — is back for season two.
Season two, which premiered on Binge this week, continues the story of Evelyn Jones (played by Asher Keddie), and tracks her journey from lounge-room blogger to becoming a leading force in women's media. In this new season, the stakes are higher for Evelyn and her team than ever before. Her business is growing, they are attempting to break into podcasting, and a slew of new online titles, also aimed at women, are trying to steal their audience.
In Evelyn's personal life, things have also taken a slightly dramatic turn. Her teenage children are at a crossroads in their own lives (with some dating drama thrown into the mix), her separation from her husband sees her living part-time with her mother, and her best friend is having problems in her own marriage.
Just as some storylines and characters from the first season were loosely inspired by real people and real events, season two contains a few scenes that are also pulled from real life.
