Faith in humanity restored.
There are few things worse than a parking ticket. But something much, much worse is having a sick baby.
And a Canberra mum was faced with both dilemmas this week.
“Over the past few days I have been in hospital with my 9-week-old son,” the mother wrote on Facebook.
“We were discharged today and as I walked to my car I noticed that I had a parking ticket. After those days in hospital, a parking ticket was one more thing that I didn’t need.”
But, luckily, a guardian angel known as Laura was watching over her.
The woman found a note attached to her ticket.
“Well to my surprise, when I opened the envelope there was a note from a lovely lady named Laura,” she said.
The note said:
“Hi there, I saw your car had a parking ticket on it, I’m sure whatever you are going through at hospital is tough enough so I have paid for you… Hope things get better!!”
“I hope that Laura sees this and knows how much I appreciate her support,” the woman posted.
“Thank you so much.”
The post, which has been liked more than 40,000 times, has people (rightly) singing Laura’s praises far and wide.
What a lovely, selfless act of kindness for someone who really needed it.

The way rival media responded to this news anchor’s death was unexpected and beautiful.
